In honor of Final Fantasy VII's 25th anniversary, publisher Square Enix plans to share new information of some kind in June, leading many to believe fresh details about FF7 Remake on PC via the Epic Games Store in December 2021, though this version of the experience suffered from a wide range of performance issues at launch.

To the dismay of many a Final Fantasy fan, information concerning FF7 Remake's second part remains under lock and key. An update is expected to arrive sometime in 2022, however, according to word from Producer Yoshinori Kitase. But since part two of the remake project entered development after production on the 2020 release wrapped, it's possible the wait for the next chapter will persist for a little while longer. At the very least, a new tidbit from Director Tetsuya Nomura hints that updated details could begin making the rounds sooner rather than later.

As relayed by Twitter  FF7's 25th anniversary in June. Naturally, the hope is that such details will revolve around FF7 Remake Part 2, though neither Square Enix nor Nomura has confirmed as much. A release date reveal would especially excite those who continue to patiently await updates on the project. The post from xenosaga reads as follows:

While a Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 update does seem the best way to celebrate the original game's milestone year, Final Fantasy faithful would do well to keep their expectations in check. It's also unclear how exactly Nomura and Co. intend to share such news, even though precedent indicates Square Enix will likely host a live broadcast of some sort.

Players who found themselves engrossed in Final Fantasy Remake's first part were not left high and dry after the credits rolled. Square Enix launched FF7's Yuffie Kisaragi-starring Intermission DLC episode in June 2021, unleashing brand-new content not previously seen in the original adventure. Unfortunately, this special bit of content is only playable across PC via the Epic Games Store and PS5, which raises the question of where FF7 Remake Part 2 will land in of platforms.
