Final Fantasy 7 Remake fans may recognize many of the voice actors for primary characters like Cloud, Tifa and Barret, who have been in other games.
Why Aerith's Line Change Is a Big Deal
Ever since Final Fantasy VII Remake was released, Aerith's reference to the "steel sky" has been revered for its emotional impact, calling back to an early interaction she has with protagonist Cloud Strife. The line itself is a reference to the "plate" that sits above the lower levels of the city of Midgar, one of the game's most notable locations. Diehard fans of the beloved RPG are hoping that Rebirth will reveal the reason for the change.
Despite the mystery surrounding the most recent patch, Final Fantasy VII Remake is no stranger to altering elements of the original 1997 game. Several characters survive key events in the new iteration of the story while some that die are resurrected by spirits simply known as Whispers. Despite these significant changes to the story, Final Fantasy VII Remake's reviews were solid. The game earned plenty of praise from fans and critics alike, many of whom championed its bold new take on the classic RPG and stylish combat system.
What's Next for Final Fantasy VII?
Final Fantasy VII Remake's story will continue in Rebirth as Cloud Strife and his party of freedom fighters leave the sprawling metropolis of Midgar and adventure out into the grasslands surrounding the city. Eventually, they'll arrive in Nibelheim, one of the most important areas in the game both narratively and mechanically. It also serves as the home of both Cloud and secondary protagonist Tifa. Once it releases, Rebirth will be available as a PlayStation 5 exclusive with a PC port likely happening in the future.
