Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis, which is an mobile title that will retell the stories of all of the Final Fantasy 7 games. Before FF7 Remake was released, the storyline of FF7 was a multimedia franchise, known as the Compilation of Final Fantasy 7.

FF7 was the first game in the Compilation, but it eventually led to several prequels, a sequel game, a sequel movie, and several sequel novels. The quality of all of these individual products has been debated by the fans, especially Dirge of Cerberus on the PS2. FF7 Remake is considered to be the start of a brand new series and it includes elements introduced in other pieces of media, like The Kids Are Alright spin-off novel having a prominent sidequest.

The Before Crisis adaptation is especially exciting, as that game never left Japan and is no longer playable, due to being a mobile title. Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis uses chibi-style graphics for its story scenes and high-quality visuals for its battles. The storyline of the game is being penned by Kazushige Nojima, who wrote several parts of the Compilation of Final Fantasy 7. Nojima is also adding new scenes to the storyline.

Fans already knew about the Ever Crisis name, as a trademark was ed for it back in January. Many fans expected it to be a Crisis Core remake or some new story involving Zack Fair. They were partially right, as the Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis trailer does feature Zack's opening scene from Crisis Core. Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis won't be released until next year, but it will be exciting to see what new elements will be added to the story, as well as the first-ever English adaptation of Before Crisis.
