I know what the perfect console for release of the new Final Fantasy Tactics game is set for September, offering new players a chance to visit one of the best installments in the series and veteran players to revisit Ramza’s adventures in the world of Ivalice.

Known as Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, the new game for PlayStation and Nintendo consoles will feature two versions. The first is the Enhanced Version, which comes with new graphics, quality-of-life improvements, and voice acting for its characters. The second is called Classic Version, which will retain the style of the original release, but with some enhancements for modern platforms. The Classic version will also have some quality-of-life updates, such as an auto-save feature, and use the War of the Lions translation. The game’s release should put off any new Final Fantasy Tactics clones for some time.

Final Fantasy Tactics Is Perfect For Nintendo Switch & Switch 2

The Game May Replicate The Cozy Feeling Of Triangle Strategy & Pixel Remaster Games

After seeing the game’s announcement, and having spent over 2000 or more hours with Square Enix RPGs, I’m certain that the new Final Fantasy Tactics will be a perfect game to play on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Unlike recent releases, such as Final Fantasy 16, The Ivalice Chronicles will lean into a much simpler gameplay design, which in many ways resembles those of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games or even Triangle Strategy. These games are all great to play on the Nintendo Switch’s handheld mode, and I’m sure it’ll be the same for Final Fantasy Tactics.

After FF7 Rebirth, I'm Scared About The Rumored Final Fantasy 9 Remake

The Final Fantasy 9 Remake rumors make me particularly excited, but I can’t help but to be concerned about how many changes can be made.

These games don’t require huge screens with high resolutions to truly showcase detailed graphics, which makes them perfect to be played on a portable console. Furthermore, because of their simplicity, they can run at peak performance on a standard Nintendo Switch. There’s a lot of comfort in playing games in handheld mode, and I find it extremely cozy to play these Square Enix RPGs while lying on my bed. Nowadays, I even prefer to play older releases like Final Fantasy 9 on my Nintendo Switch rather than sit down in front of my PC or on my living room couch.

Final Fantasy Tactics Will Be Great To Play In Total Comfort

The Game’s Turn-Based Combat Allows For Laid-Back Gameplay

Like the aforementioned titles, Final Fantasy Tactics should be a cozy game to play. Not only does it allow you to play comfortably in handheld mode, but the fact that it is a turn-based tactical RPG also gives you enough time to think and relax while playing. I’m sure the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game will be just as good as the Nintendo Switch versions. However, given the option to tackle this Square Enix RPG from the comfort of my bed, I’m sure I’ll experience Final Fantasy Tactics’ changes with the Nintendo Switch.

This Overlooked Final Fantasy Spin-Off Is Way Better Than Most Fans Would Expect

Final Fantasy isn’t particularly well-regarded when it comes to its mobile titles, but one of them really shines among the series’ dark spots.

It shouldn’t take too long now, as the release date for The Ivalice Chronicles is set for September 30. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch consoles, and is already for pre-order. Tactics is one of the most acclaimed series in the franchise, despite not being considered a core game. It’s unclear if Square Enix intends to release more titles for the series, but I’m happy the rumors were true about the Final Fantasy Tactics remaster, especially knowing that I’ll be able to play it in handheld mode.
