both old and new Final Fantasy XIV players for completing and revisiting Duties. On top of offering modest rewards for low effort, it is also how Wondrous Tails visually delivers itself that can appeal to players.

Final Fantasy XIV's Wondrous Tails takes the form of a dainty sticker scrapbook that has players complete objectives to receive cute stickers. These stickers are placed randomly on a grid in a "bingo-like" fashion, and if players manage to complete 1-3 lines, they will be duly rewarded for their efforts. To unlock Wondrous Tails, players must speak to an adorable character in Final Fantasy XIV known as Khloe Aliapoh.

Khloe Aliapoh is a young Miqo'te NPC who can be found in the rebuilt bastion of Idyllshire. Idyllshire can only be accessed after Final Fantasy XIV players reach a certain point during Heavenward's storyline. Once players have arrived at the treasure-hunter settlement, they can unlock Wondrous Tails by completing the single-step Level 60 quest, "Keeping Up with the Aliapohs," which can be begun by talking to the Unctuous Adventurer at X: 7.0, Y: 5.9. After speaking to Khloe, she will give players a Wondrous Tails Journal, an item that players can use to keep track of their progress in Wondrous Tails. To complete the journal, players must earn seals by fulfilling 9 out of 16 random objectives. No two players will have the same objective layout, and some of the available Duties can even be content that a player has yet to unlock. However, this limitation can be countered with the "Second Chance" feature.

Second Chance allows players to do two of the following:

  • Using Second Chance x 1: restore the status of a completed duty to incomplete while randomly completing another incomplete Duty.
  • Using Second Chance x 2: shuffle the position of all seals in the journal. However, this action is only available when the current number of seals is between 3 and 7.

Second Chance points are received if Final Fantasy XIV player finishes an objective with other players who are new to the Duty. Players can acquire up to 9 points; however, bear in mind that this mechanic only applies to Duties that offer "New-to-Duty" bonuses.

Once players acquire nine seals in their Wondrous Tails Journal, they must return the journal to Khloe to receive their rewards. Each Wondrous Tails Journal has a two-week deadline for completion, and after a player turns in a journal to Khloe, she will only present them a new one every week on Tuesday. When earning Wondrous Tails seals, the goal is to have the stickers form 1-3 lines on a grid. The number of completed lines will determine the number of rewards a player will receive. Wondrous Tails rewards range from Gil, Allagan Tomestones, or XP to MGP Cards, Timeworn Maps, and Certificates of Commendation, which can be exchanged with Khloe for exclusive prizes.
