Fallout 76 has no shortage of creatures, monsters, and other irradiated beings including one of the more powerful enemy creatures, the Sheepsquatch. The latest entry in the Fallout series features gargantuan abominations that make Deathclaws look like child’s play. The West Virginian wasteland provides the perfect backdrop for creatures based on local folklore and new creatures alike.
The Sheepsquatch seems to have stayed unchanged during the new transition to the Steel Reign update. As the name suggests, Sheepsquatch is a large, irradiated monster that look like a cross between a sheep and a sasquatch. These ten-foot-tall behemoths are very tough, and almost always must be attacked by a group of players. Although Sheepsquatch poses an extreme threat to all players, they can be defeated with the right tactics.
Finding & Killing The Sheepsquatch
Generally, a Sheepsquatch will spawn one at a time at certain locations and during specific events. However, at the Sheepsquatch boss fight during the Free Range event, up to two Sheepsquatch may spawn.
Conveniently, the Sheepsquatch have set locations in Appalachia where they can be found regularly. Although there is not a 100% chance of finding the monsters at any of these locations, players should be able to find one by exploring Sheepsquatch hotspots on the map.

Sheepsquatch can also be encountered as part of some events in Fallout 76. Boss fights during the events “Free Range,” “Primal Cuts,” and “Project Paradise” all feature Sheepsquatch battles. The Sheepsquatch have an extremely high level of HP, even more so than higher-level creatures like Scorchbeasts. Because of this high HP, players will have a hard time defeating a Sheepsquatch on their own. Teaming up with a party is the most efficient way to take down a Sheepsquatch.
There is a slew of attacks that Sheepsquatch utilize including basic swipes and headbutts, these melee strikes don't do much damage but can stagger players leaving them open to attacks. Sheepsquatch also have an attack during which they shoot out their quills in an AOE attack that deals high damage. A jump attack from the monster will stagger players and cut their ranged accuracy. Finally, Sheepsquatch have two ranged attacks: a ram attack that spans a long distance and a throwing attack that deals poison damage.
It’s important to to stock up on supplies before the battle, which is made more efficient if players have a backpack.
Because of the Sheepsquatch's versatility, there isn’t a set range to attack the monster from. Players must experiment with different attack strategies to find a method that defeats the Sheepsquatch. With the right supplies and the right group of players (or a daring solo player), the Sheepsquatch are intensely dangerous, but beatable opponents in Fallout 76.
