Players can choose between three classes in cast spells from range or fight with melee weapons. Many players will choose to stick with their class until the end of a playthrough. However, sometimes, players want to experiment with new classes. And, at some points, players may want to try new skill and talent combinations to improve their combat style.
Fortunately, there is no need to restart Greedfall from the beginning to successfully change classes or otherwise respec a character. Players can simply pick up Memory Crystals. Once used, these special items will reset a character's skills and talents, allowing them to choose new ones. Players can get Memory Crystals as item drops from defeating certain bosses, both during the main campaign and during optional side missions. There are only five, so players will want to hold onto any they come across until they're absolutely sure they want to respec. Here's where to find every Memory Crystal in Greedfall.
How to Find Memory Crystals in Greedfall
Players will receive their first Memory Crystal in Greedfall automatically after defeating the Unknown Creature at the docks in Serene and boarding the boat to New Serene during the Great Departure quest. This typically happens around level 4.
The second Memory Crystal is tied to the main story quest "Face to Face with the Demon." Players will need to complete the quest, defeat Nadaig Vedemen, and make sure to solve the drum puzzle. Players will also need to complete the puzzles after they defeat the demon to get the Memory Crystal to drop.
The third Memory Crystal can be found if players choose to take on Vasco's third loyalty mission, Forever a Naut, to find the wreckage the Naut ship in Wenshaganaw, The Singing Waters. While exploring the wreckage, players will come across an optional boss, Nadaig Glendemen. The boss drops a Memory Crystal upon defeat.
The fourth Memory Crystal can be found in Vedvilvie in the northeast region of the map. Here, players will encounter a Guardian they must defeat. The Guardian drops this Memory Crystal.
Players will receive the fifth and final Memory Crystal as a drop from the Nadaig Frasamen. They encounter this boss during the In Pursuit of the Tierna Harh Cadachtas main quest.
Players should note that, when they change to a new class using a Memory Crystal, their starting equipment will change into the starting equipment for the new class. While this gear isn't very high-level, it should tide the player over until they can gain access to better quality items for their new class.
