As players navigate the first area in Resident Evil Village, properly called The Village, they'll be killing and evading Lycan enemies with the few bullets they have left. Players' main objective is to get into the castle. However, they'll have to complete a handful of side objectives along the way. To open the door to Lady Dimitrescu's castle, players will need to find the Maiden and Demon Crests. The Maiden comes easy. However, the Demon is locked away. Players will need the screwdriver to obtain it. So, here's how to find the screwdriver in Resident Evil Village.
Resident Evil Village: Where to Find the Screwdriver
To find the Screwdriver in Resident Evil Village, players must obtain the truck key from Luiza’s house. When they inspect it, they’ll be prompted to remove the screwdriver hidden inside. There’s also a note prompting players to take the screwdriver. It says, “Take the screwdriver out of the keyring if you need it.” Here’s how to get the truck key.
After surviving the Lycan attack and being gored by a wayward arrow, Ethan will have to sneak up to Luiza’s house to regroup with what he hopes are other survivors. Along the way, he’ll meet Elena and her father, who is trapped in their small shack.
Ethan must vault over the wall and open the gates to Luiza’s house from the other side. Once inside, Ethan is not met with many friendly faces. Meanwhile, Elena’s father is turning into a Lycan under everyone’s nose. Unfortunately, nobody notices until it’s too late, and Elena’s father rips the remaining survivors to pieces and sets fire to Luiza’s house.
In a daring escape, Ethan and Elena will find a red pickup truck. Of course, every car needs a key. Players will need to head into the kitchen to find the note referencing the truck key. They’ll find the truck key in a drawer to the left of the sink.
Inspect the Truck Key in Ethan’s inventory to remove the screwdriver. Presto, Ethan Winters is now the proud owner of the screwdriver.
After escaping Luiza’s house, Ethan will find himself on the front lawn once again. To his right will be a locked box containing the Demon Crest. Use the screwdriver to open the box and claim the crest. Take both crests to the sealed door leading to Lady Dimitrescu’s castle, and manipulate them until they fall into place. The images on the crests need to line up with the images on the door.
