Picture a magical world with fantastical creatures. A world in which you get attached to animals and see their personalities shining through. A world in which characters go on daring quests and experience wild adventures. This description is about Harry Potter.

Though these two films are tonally different, there are more similarities than one might originally think. Considering the development these fictional characters receive, it is easy to determine their core traits, which makes it easy to place them into their Hogwarts houses.

Mr. Ray: Ravenclaw

Mr. Ray is Nemo's teacher. This sting-ray is incredibly intelligent and shares his knowledge with his students. These lessons are creative and often include real-life examples and field trips. He is also known for his sharpness and he is able to quickly and easily navigate challenging situations that arise while teaching.

Furthermore, Mr. Ray is very accepting and values individuals. He appreciates all of the children in his class and doesn't ever seem annoyed with Dory. For all of these reasons, Mr. Ray would be an amazing contribution to the Ravenclaw house.

Becky: Slytherin

Don't make the mistake Marlin made and underestimate Becky. This bird can get the job done. When she commits to something, she completes the task to the agreed-upon . But Becky isn't going to go out of her way for you without a deep connection, which is why you must first look her in the eye.

Becky is no fool. She takes advantage of the opportunities in front of her and isn't going to put your needs over her own, which is why she paused her delivery of Marlin and Nemo to eat some delicious popcorn. Becky is the only one who can get Nemo and Marlin into the Marine Life Institute. This proves that Becky has strong leadership, is achievement-oriented, and values self-preservation above all, earning her a place in Slytherin house.

Jenny: Hufflepuff

In Finding Dory, fans finally got a chance to meet Dory's parents. Her mother, Jenny turned out to be everything for which fans could hope. Jenny is patient and kind. She shows comion and is fiercely dedicated to her daughter. Years after losing Dory, she continues to return to the same spot each day in case Dory returns.

Upon being reunited, she has nothing but love for her daughter. It is clear that Jenny's comion, understanding, and devotion to her child would land her in Hufflepuff house.

Charlie: Ravenclaw

Charlie is Dory's father. He posses the same devotion to Dory that Jenny does, however, Charlie seems focused on helping Dory improve. Through flashbacks, it is revealed that Charlie helped Dory devise several creative strategies that were meant to help her find her way.

He values Dory for her originality and is accepting of her condition. Charlie is constantly imparting wisdom on Dory and many of his quotes have been turned into inspirational memes. With his wisdom and creativity being at the center of his communications with Dory, it is clear that Charlie is a Ravenclaw.

Bailey: Gryffindor

When Bailey is first introduced he seems like a lazy coward. He is lucky that the sorting hat sees one's full potential because much like Neville Longbottom, this character rises to the occasion when it matters. Without a call to action, Bailey was happy to lie around doing nothing all day.

However, as soon as Dory is in trouble, Bailey is quick to spring into action. In just one day, he confronts all of his fears head-on in order to help his new friend accomplish her mission. It takes an extraordinary amount of bravery to overcome one's greatest fears so Gryffindor is the house for this beluga!

Destiny: Ravenclaw

Destiny is a loyal friend, but she is also incredibly sharp. Destiny knows what she is talking about and isn't afraid to throw her knowledge in the faces of her friends. She immediately calls out Bailey, disregarding his feelings and focusing on the facts.

She also demonstrates her wit through her sharp tongue and quick verbal responses. As Ravenclaws often do, Destiny values originality and individuality and embraces Dory in all of her quirky glory.

Hank: Slytherin

If you are looking for a true Slytherin, look no further than Hank! Hank knows what he wants and will go through great lengths to accomplish his goals. He is cunning, quickly devising plans and manipulating others into being willing participants. Hank is resourceful and quickly evaluates his surroundings, creating a plan. And like many Slytherins, self-preservation is incredibly important to Hank.

Nemo: Gryffindor

Nemo is bold and daring. This fish actively seeks out adventure, often acting recklessly. Nemo believes in doing what is right and often acts as a leader, convincing the adults around him to follow his lead. Once Nemo puts his mind to something, he is 100 percent devoted to the cause and determined to succeed.

Marlin: Hufflepuff

Marlin can be a bit explosive, but deep down he is a deeply comionate fish. His explosions are typically the result of fear as Marlin is scarred by the trauma of losing his wife and unborn children. He was dedicated to his wife and children feels responsible for not being able to protect them.

Though he loses his temper sometimes, he is ultimately patient and kind with Dory. Marlin is hardworking. He recognizes that life isn't fair but holds fairness is high regard. Though cautious by nature, he is willing to take risks if it means remaining dedicated and loyal to those he cares about. These traits all contribute to his placement in Hufflepuff.

Dory: Gryffindor

Dory has nerve! This fish is unapologetically herself. She demonstrates her boldness in every move she makes. From her blunt speech to her willingness to spring into action, Dory consistently proves that she is the hero of her own story.

She has courage and is so determined that she is able to overcome her memory loss when fixated on accomplishing a task. Hopefully, she can apply the same determination to ing the Gryffindor common room , or one of her friends is going to have to be around to let her in.
