Aratra is the fifth major boss in The First Berserker: Khazan and one of the final challenges to overcome before being able to access the Blacksmith and start crafting some unique items. Aratra is a giant spider enemy found in the Skoffa Cave region after navigating through a variety of zombie-type enemies and poison-spewing spiders. The area right before this is literally a lake of poison, so it should be no surprise the Aratra has some deadly poison and venom attacks in store. Luckily, Aratra has some obvious weaknesses.
Aratra will not be as much of a challenge as previous bosses such as Volbaino in The First Berserker: Khazan, assuming you have a good handle on your selected skills and weapon of choice. Personally, I found the Spear to be highly effective for this fight and was heavily invested in Endurance and Stamina regeneration. The best strategy is to get behind Aratra as often as possible and deal serious damage to its giant abdomen.
Where To Find Aratra In First Berserker: Khazan
Aratra Is At The Bottom Of Scoffa Cave
Scoffa Cave is among the more dangerous and frustrating levels to navigate in the game so far, with the top levels of the cave including various holes in the floor that you will definitely fall down if you're not paying close attention, which took me by surprise. There will also be a ton of slow-moving zombies on the upper levels of the cave that can swarm you in hordes, so be careful about running past these enemies to speed things along.
As you get farther down into Scoffa Cave, you'll eventually reach the Poisoned Depths, which completely lives up to its name. This place is basically a pool of poison with very tiny areas where Khazan can post up and try his best to fight off the varying-sized spiders in the cave. If you manage to fight past all of these and not succumb to death by poisoning, you will finally reach the Bottom of the Cave Nexus point, where Aratra awaits behind a boss fog wall.
How To Defeat Aratra
Attack Aratra's Abdomen From Behind For Maximum Weakpoint Damage
Aratra has a series of moves that can be avoided if you know where to look. The primary attacks Aratra uses are its leg attacks, which come in a few varieties, but the one to watch out for is right after she screams. This one is difficult to brink guard because the pattern is very sporadic, and it ends with a big pouncing attack that you'll want to dodge.

The First Berserker: Khazan - How To Beat Yetuga (Boss Guide)
Yetuga is the first major boss in The First Berserker: Khazan that you face, and it sets the tone for how challenging the game will be.
No matter what form of leg attack she throws your way, you want to try to dodge around to gain advantage on her back. Aratra's large abdomen is a massive, easy target, and she has many openings. Aratra is also capable of trapping you with webs and pouncing on you, so dodge these as well.
Aratra will have multiple attacks that are followed by brief cooldowns, but there's enough time to circle behind her and land massive damage. She will jump away when you're behind her at times. She'll start launching balls of venom, which inflict massive venom buildup each time they hit you, so be careful to avoid these if you can. When you deplete her health to around 75%, she will then climb the wall, signaling her second phase.
"As Aratra's health depletes, she will retreat back into the cave and re-grow her lost parts."
From this point on, you can start breaking pieces of her off and limiting the moves she's capable of using. As Aratra's health depletes, she will retreat into the cave and re-grow her lost parts. She'll continue doing this until the encounter ends, so my recommendation is to simply aim for the abdomen as much as possible, watching for her pouncing attack follow-ups afterward. If you're struggling with the poison effects in this fight, be sure to take advantage of the poison-mitigating items in your inventory, such as Poison Resistance Elixers.
Rewards For Beating Aratra
You're One Step Closer To Crafting Weapons At The Blacksmith
Once you take Aratra down, you and Elemaine will free Qazumaka from some spider webs, and Qazumaka will now be waiting downstairs in the Crevice with the Blacksmith's Heirloom bonus mission that you can complete to gain full access to the The First Berserker: Khazan. This is by far the best reward for defeating Aratra, but you'll also get some loot on top of that. Included in the Aratra rewards are two random pieces from the Devourer of Darkness set, and possibly the Man-Eating Spider Leg, which will let you craft anything from the set at the newly unlocked Blacksmith.

The First Berserker: Khazan - How To Beat Viper (Boss Guide)
Viper is among the first bosses you'll face in The First Berserker: Khazan. He has two stages that are very difficult to beat.
You will also receive 93,500 Lacrima, some gold, and two Transmutation Mists. Since you'll likely have a better grip on your build and the gameplay mechanics, defeating Aratra shouldn't be nearly as much of a challenge as some of the previous bosses in The First Berserker: Khazan, and Aratra tends to have more opportunities due to her slow recovery from some of her bigger moves.
