Bearius is a massive bear enemy and one of the many secondary bosses in The First Berserker: Khazan found at the end of the game's various bonus missions. Bearius can be found after defeating the fifth major boss in the game, Aratra, the giant spider enemy. Once you've managed to defeat Aratra and free the Blacksmith, Qazumaka, you can return to him at the bottom level of the Crevice and speak with him to acquire a new bonus mission called "Blacksmith's Heirloom."

To find Bearius, you'll have to travel to a new region called the Spider's Tomb, which is actually a sub-region deep within Scoffa's Cave. This region has three different levels you'll have to advance through in order to finally reach Bearius and acquire the Blacksmith's forge hammer that was lost when he got swooped up by spiders. Ultimately, Bearius is a pretty straightforward boss that I found to be pretty slow-moving by comparison to previous First Berserker: Khazan bosses like Viper.

How To Defeat Bearius In The First Berserker: Khazan

Wait For Side Rolls To Deal Massive Damage

Compared to the other bosses in First Berserker: Khazan you've faced so far, Bearius will be considerably slower and easier to guard against and/or dodge. He has very slow and predictable swings, though they are devastating if they hit you. You'll deal the most damage from the side or behind Bearius, but he will counter this with a side roll attack that can knock out your stamina and deal damage. However, it's easily dodge-able, and when he misses he takes a moment to shake it off so you can charge up a heavy attack for serious damage.

Volbaino is the 4th boss in The First Berserker: Khazan and is found at the end of a village, who players will have to beat to progress the story.

The big attack to watch for is his unblockable swipe attack, which you will need to brink dodge to avoid. Bearius also has a biting attack that he can use to lift Khazan up and chew on him, dealing major damage. This can also be brink dodged against, and again there will be openings afterward for you to get in a series of attacks. Otherwise, his big claw swings and slams can easily be brink guarded to melt down his stamina and health.

You'll see a red symbol light up on Khazan his unblockable attack is about to hit, so it's easy to tell when you're at risk.

Bearius is also weak to certain status effects, particularly fire damage, so you can start this fight with some fire enhancer for a leg up. The best strategy is to go for heavy attacks when he starts to shake off from rolling or ground slamming, and you can drain his stamina effectively with a beefed-up spear or greatsword. No matter what you do, avoid his sweeping claw attacks as best as possible, as they deal heavy damage and will instantly drain your stamina.

Rewards For Beating Bearius

Khazan Can Finally Use The Blacksmith

First Berserker Khazan Blacksmith with armor sets available

After you defeat Bearius, climb the ladder at the back of the arena to free the trapped guy at the top, Hengie, and retrieve the Blacksmith's hammer. You will now be able to return to the Crevice and actually use the Blacksmith in The First Berserker to create and/or dismantle gear. There will be a handful of armor sets available based on what you've collected so far throughout your journey, but they all require special materials to craft, so it may still be a minute before you can start crafting some of the better options available in the gear sets.

Rangkus is the sixth boss you face in The First Berzerker: Khazan, with slow but powerful attacks across two phases that make him difficult to beat.

You will also be rewarded with two random pieces from the Butcher's Set, as well as the Slayer's Scroll, which allows you to create armor from the Slayer set. In addition, you'll get a random weapon or accessory, as well as close to 10,000 Lacrima and a bit of gold. Overall, Bearius is a pretty straightforward and easy boss compared to others in The First Berserker: Khazan, but if you want to take him down easily, use fire damage and avoid his deadly swipes.
