If you're wondering if The First Berserker: Khazan has a level cap or if it's possible to reach a maximum level, the answer is both yes and no. While you can reach an eventual maximum level, your level will be capped based on your New Game+ status. Each time you play through an NG+ run, the level caps are gradually increased until you are able to reach the highest level possible in NG++.

Your level is determined by the stats in First Berserker: Khazan. Individual stats can be increased all the way up to level 99, but only within the limits of each NG tier. You will also be able to increase your Mastery Level and invest points in the four different skill trees all the way up to 150, and certain skills will be unlocked gradually until you reach level 32. By the end of NG++, you should have more than enough to fully invest in the entire common tree and a single weapon tree.

How The Level Cap Works In Khazan

Each New Game+ Attempt Increases The Level Cap

Leveling up in The First Berserker: Khazan requires Lacrima, which is the game's version of XP that can be invested in specific stats at any Blade Nexus. In your first playthrough, your overall level can only be increased up to 200. In NG+, that limit is increased to 250, while NG++ increases it to a final 350. After that, you'll get a message saying that you've gone as far as you can go, and while you'll still be able to play through all the missions, you will no longer be able to increase your stats past the 350 mark.

There are multiple ways to increase the Lacrima you earn and level up faster, but your best bet is to simply continue to fight bosses (losing is okay!) and take advantage of Khazan's unique boss challenge rewards.

While it is theoretically possible to level Khazan all the way up to 446, that would require NG+++, which does not currently exist as an option once completing NG++. A max level of 350 is the highest level you can reach in the game, and you won't be able to get there until the end of NG++.

This means that you will be limited to a certain extent in your initial and NG+ runs if you are trying to max out Khazan's stats, but this should not be detrimental to your progress by any means. You won't really need to reach even close to 350 to be able to complete the game on NG++, especially if you have honed your Khazan skills and understand the basic mechanics of the game after your initial run.

In my view, NG+ is when you can start to really have fun with the game, as you'll have a good grasp on each region, sub-region, elite bosses, and an overall better understanding of how to deal maximum damage to each boss. The bosses are stronger, but so are you, and each boss's move sets haven't changed from the first time you defeated them, so you'll be much better prepared in NG+ and NG++, and the max level will not be quite as relevant.

What Is The Highest Level You Can Reach In Khazan?

Some Have Said 446, But It's Only 350 Due To NG+ Limits

While it's theoretically possible to reach level 446 in First Berserker: Khazan, the hard stop at NG++ makes the actual level limit 350. As stated, 350 won't be possible earlier than NG++, so it's not possible to become completely overpowered during a NG or NG+ run. The maximum Mastery Level you can reach is 150, and you'll be able to fill out the entire Common skill tree as well as an entire weapon tree for either a Dual Wield, Spear, or Greatsword build in Khazan. Leveling up to 350, stats will also start to have soft caps as you advance.

Crafting gear sets in The First Berserker: Khazan requires unique crafting materials that can be acquired from farming their corresponding bosses.

For now, 350 is the maximum level you can reach once you hit NG++, and doing so is no easy feat. NG+ also includes a ton of extra items and collectibles you can grab, and reaching NG++ allows you to finally craft legendary gear at the blacksmith in First Berserker: Khazan. At the end of the day, you won't be able to reach level 446 in The First Berserker: Khazan without mods, or barring some kind of new update or patch that allows you to progress another journey beyond NG++.
