The Marvel Cinematic Universe following the colossal failure of the short-lived ABC series revolving around the superhuman team. However, after the surprise cameo of Anson Mount as a member of Earth-838's Illuminati, fans have begun to suspect that the Inhumans may have a future in the franchise after all.

The Inhumans have a long and expansive history in Marvel Comics, with a large catalogue of characters to choose from should Marvel Studios choose to reboot the group for its cinematic franchise. Certain fans on Reddit have spoken out about which Inhumans they would like to see adapted first.

Maximus

B0zzyk has some strong opinions regarding an Inhumans reboot, including potential acting choices therein. "I don’t think there really is a need to bring back the Inhumans in the MCU," they write,  "but if they did, I’m a strong er for keeping the cast. Casting has never been an issue with the MCU, and it wasn’t for Inhumans, especially with the likes of Maximus and Black Bolt."

In their post, the Redditor highlights the talent of actors from The Inhumans, including that of Iwan Rheon, who portrays the antagonist Maximus. As Black Bolt's brother and the most recognizable Inhuman villain from the comics, Maximus is a necessary character to include in any reboot, thus giving the talented Rheon another shot at the supervillain.

Karnak

Ken Leung as Karnak on Marvel's Inhumans

Redditor Abject_Cellist486 has strong opinions about the Inhuman Karnak's missed opportunity in the ABC series, writing, "I always thought Karnak would be cool in live-action if they did it right. The show just had him keeping bonking his head on a rock and forgetting about his powers. I'd like to see him done justice in the MCU."

The character of Karnak indeed has a very cinematic power set in the comics, allowing him to see the various possible futures based on prospective actions, allowing him great wisdom and foresight. Karnak could very well make a valuable addition to the MCU's Inhuman royal family, perhaps as their most trusted advisor.

Crystal

The Inhuman Crystal using her pwoers

While pitching their own recast Inhumans lineup, which includes Yvonne Strahovski as Medusa and Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson as Gorgon, Redditor Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink step into the role of the Inhuman princess Crystal.

As an elemental Inhuman and one of the most powerful of the royal family, Crystal is a character who many fans believe was completely wasted in the Inhumans TV series. The comic book character had several major storylines throughout her history, including relationships among the Fantastic Four and Avengers, making her a perfect character to enter the sprawling world of the MCU.

Mordis

Inhumans Mordis

Marvel fan Abject_Cellist486 believes that Mordis is one of the most interesting characters in Inhumans. He has the same destructive capabilities as Black Bolt, but he gets locked away for them since he's not a member of the Inhuman Royal Family. That could really lead to some interesting thematic stories in the MCU."

Mordis is a very interesting character who was labeled as destructive and dangerous by the Inhuman royal family, thus unfairly making him out to be a villain. In a story so often embroiled in themes of classism and regal tyranny, Mordis is an invaluable character to include in any reboot the MCU might take part in.

Medusa

While discussing the merits of an Inhumans reboot for the MCU, ProjectDarkInfinity declared their desire for the same cast to reprise their roles for a brand-new story. They single out Serinda Swan, who portrayed the Inhuman queen Medusa, writing, "If they have to bring back one, make it Serina. She seemed genuinely emotionally moved by getting the part, and I'm a big softie so that earns bonus points for casting."

Serinda Swan's version of Medusa was largely criticized not for her acting but for the writing surrounding her character. As one of the most important Inhumans in comic book history, many fans believe that both she and Swan should get a second chance at making a first impression. With the cameo of Anson Mount's Black Bolt in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesssuch a reality seems far more likely than ever before.

Black Bolt

Doctor Strange 2: Black Bolt’s Gruesome Death

A deleted Reddit  sings the praises of the Inhuman king, Blakagar Boltagon, writing, "Black Bolt is a literally perfect character... he's complex enough to be compelling, his powers [are] more of a curse than a blessing."

While Black Bolt made a surprise appearance as a member of the ill-fated Illuminati council on Earth-838, many fans are still hoping for a proper rendition of the character on Earth-616. The Inhuman is a major player in several line-wide Marvel Comics events, mostly due to his role in the Illuminati as one of the most recognizable Inhumans of all time, any new adaptation of the fictional superhero race would be remiss to ignore Black Bolt.

Quake

Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson, aka Quake, on Agents of SHIELD

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. remain canon in the MCU, then Inhumans are already among the other Marvel heroes. The Redditor expresses their desire that Marvel Studios "get[s] Chloe Bennet to play a version of Quake that fits the MCU. Same actress, rebooted/soft booted version of Quake."

Chloe Bennet's Daisy Johnson, also known by her Inhuman name Quake, is a fan favorite superhero and just one of many characters from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. that fans are hoping to see in the MCU. While such an event seemed nearly impossible only a year ago, the emergence of certain Netflix Defenders portends the possibility of Bennet's return, which could seamlessly usher in the age of the Inhumans in the MCU.

Yo-Yo

Yo Yo (Agents of Shield)

A Redditor and Marvel fan, Crestfallen_Vanity, lists Elena Rodriguez, otherwise known as Yo-Yo and Slingshot, as one of their top picks for characters from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. who they "want to see most" in the MCU, citing their desire to see Yo-Yo and Quake team up once more to form the Secret Warriors, jut as they did in the comics.

With several seasons of character work already done to introduce the character of Elena Rodriguez into the MCU, Marvel Studios could easily bring Natalia Córdova-Buckley's character back into the larger franchise. As a speedster whose powers have a very interesting weakness, Yo-Yo could easily become one of the most intriguing Inhumans in the MCU.

Lockjaw

One Reddit , two_graves_for_us, couldn't help but fall in love with the personal pet of the Inhuman royal family, the giant teleporting pit bull known as Lockjaw. "I hope we see Lockjaw again," they write, going on to call the dog a "good boy."

Lockjaw is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable elements of the Inhuman comic series and one of the few animals to have been affected by the Terrigen Mists that transform a being into an Inhuman. If the character is indeed rebooted for the MCU, fans would undoubtedly fall in love with the dog quite quickly, as he is undoubtedly the most adorable member of the Inhuman royal family.

Ms. Marvel

Kamala Khan aka Ms Marvel in Superhero Costume

Though the finale episode of Ms. Marvel seemed to indicate that the MCU's version of Kamala Khan was indeed a mutant and not Inhuman, one Redditor believes that this might not be the end of the story. AvatarAurin theorizes that "the bangle activated [Kamala's] Inhuman DNA," and the character will indeed the ranks of Inhumans in the future of the MCU.

While many fans have voiced their outrage over the MCU reimagining Kamala Khan as a mutant, wishing for Ms. Marvel instead to follow her comic book counterpart's Inhuman roots. Nevertheless, the stinging theme of X-Men: The Animated Series seems to confirm that Kamala the MCU's first confirmed mutant after all.
