It looks like Barry Allen will have his hands full this season as many of the show’s old villains will be returning for The Flash’s 100th episode. Season 5’s eighth episode is an important milestone for the show and it sounds like the writers have every intention of making it memorable. Numerous characters from the show’s past will make an appearance and once again go toe-to-toe with the Scarlet Speedster.

The latest season of The CW’s The Flash started in the usual way, with a speedster traveling back in time and potentially rewriting history. To complicate things further, the speedster is Barry and Iris’ future daughter, Nora. But in typical Team Flash fashion, Barry and Co. agree to once again try to fix the timeline. After all, they have plenty of experience due to tampering with the timeline themselves. But for Barry, Nora won’t be the only person from his timeline making a surprise appearance.

DC World (via CBR) had the chance to speak with actor Tony Todd, the voice for Flash villain Zoom. Todd revealed he had finished filming for the show’s 100th episode. When asked if this meant he was once again playing Zoom, Todd said, “They are all returning, all the speedster villains, and they all want a piece of Barry.” Over the course of the first four seasons, Barry has fought numerous evil speedsters: Reverse-Flash, the Rival, Savitar, and Trajectory. News that they are all coming back is not something anyone from Team Flash would ever want to hear.

Villainous speedsters might not be the only pieces of Barry’s past that may come back to haunt him. David Dastmalchian, who played Abra Kadabra, might reappear as well. According to Comic Book, Dastmalchian believes his character needs to make a comeback, saying, "You know The Flash is creeping up on their 100th episode soon and I think that Abra Kadabra should show up and finally teach old Barry a lesson for once." It is too soon to say if this is a hint or more wishful thinking on Dastmalchian’s part but with so many other characters returning, it isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

Fans will have to wait until December 4th to see just how packed the 100th episode is. But with five enemy speedsters to contend with, Barry will be plenty busy. During San Diego Comic-Con 2018, showrunner Todd Helbing teased the existence of a twist in season 5. The return of so many old foes could be what he was referencing. But with the Elizabeth Tulloch’s Lois Lane, and a whole second half of the season to follow, there could be a bigger surprise waiting in the wings. Regardless, with so many faces, both old and new, appearing this year, season 5 of The Flash will undoubtedly be another exciting one.
