Ezra Miller's cameo on the CW's Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover signals that Cyborg will indeed appear in a who's who of cameos from stars of other DC films and television series, from Robert Wuhl of 1989's Batman to Brandon Routh donning the cape of Superman once more. However, it is certainly safe to say that Miller's cameo as the DCEU version of Barry Allen was by far the most surprising one.

Miller's appearance occurs during "Part 4" of the crossover, with his Barry Allen coming face to face with Grant Gustin's Scarlet Speedster. With both versions of the Flash perplexed at how they've come to meet the other, Miller's Barry Allen comments "I told Victor this was possible" before disappearing from the scene. Miller's line is an obvious reference to Victor Stone aka Cyborg, played in the DCEU by Ray Fisher, and while it serves as a fun little Easter Egg at face value, it also may reveal something crucial about The Flash solo movie.

The Flash has gone through considerably more developmental difficulties than most superhero properties, with numerous directors coming and going, and a release date that has shifted multiple times. Recent developments, however, have seen the project seemingly beginning to pick up steam, with setting a release date for July 1, 2022.

Miller's own future as Barry Allen was in some doubt last year, with the actor reportedly penning his own screenplay with comic book writer Grant Morrison following creative differences with previous directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. With Miller's cameo on Crisis On Infinite Earths (which was reportedly facilitated by Warner Bros.), it is now virtually assured that he will remain in the role. However, the reference Miller's Flash makes to Victor Stone in his appearance opposite Gustin's Barry Allen offers a clear signal of Cyborg appearing in The Flash film.

To be sure, Victor co-starring in the movie alongside Barry was on the cards from the movie's early stages, with the plan for the duo to form a strong bond in Zack Snyder's Justice League"). Though neither Miller nor Fisher have appeared in any recent DC movies, Miller's cameo on Crisis On Infinite Earths is clearly intended to keep his Flash fresh in the minds of audiences. What's more, the reference made to Cyborg is also doubtlessly deliberate.

Miller's appearance could have easily made reference to Wonder Woman or Aquaman (whose solo film is now once the project came under Muschietti's stewardship. Time will tell what the film will ultimately look like under Andy Muschietti's direction, but Ezra Miller's cameo on Crisis On Infinite Earths provides ample evidence for Cyborg having a notable presence in The Flash movie.
