The Flash movie, set to release in 2022, will adapt this storyline, though director Andrés Muschietti has cautioned it will be a different take than what viewers may be expecting. One of the biggest Flashpoint moments in the comics is when Barry meets Bruce's father, Thomas Wayne, who, in this timeline, becomes Batman after the murder of his son. Understandably, fans have been hoping that particular storyline might appear in The Flash movie.
Unfortunately, last month it was revealed that Thomas Wayne doesn't appear in The Flash script, suggesting an appearance by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Morgan played the role opposite Lauren Cohan as Martha Wayne. The actor has since indicated he would sign on to play Flashpoint Batman if DC ever came calling, though it seems that won't happen anytime soon.
In the meantime, artist in popular Flashpoint comics in the past, where the two meet and forces. Check out the Flashpoint art below:
Though many are disappointed The Flash won't be introducing Flashpoint Batman, at least as of now, this fan art gives a good idea of what it could look like if it did. In fairness, it does make sense DC is holding off on that particular storyline. Since Robert Pattinson has now taken on the role of Batman from Ben Affleck, it's hard to know what the plans are for Thomas Wayne. Morgan could continue playing the role, but a potential reunion like this one may not pack the same emotional punch if the two haven't appeared together onscreen before. It also seems likely Michael Keaton will play the role Thomas Wayne could have played, as he's in talks to reprise his role of Batman from the late '80s and early '90s in the film.
The Batman will also provide some clarity, especially since it comes out before The Flash. After that film, viewers may have a better sense of the character's future in the DCEU. At that point, it may make sense to talk about Flashpoint Batman again. At the very least, this fan art proves his introduction would make for a powerful moment.
