Fortnite is no stranger to welcoming video game guests, and this time, everyone's favorite rivals, Sub-Zero and Scorpion, have entered the arena. While they're available as quest-based and paid skins, respectively, they also bring a series of quests with them, all themed around their newly introduced "Kombat Kit" weapons, on top of a few other surprises and Easter eggs for Mortal Kombat fans.

The third set of these quests in Chapter 6: Season 2's Mortal Kombat line is the Balance of Power, themed around the classic Mortal Kombat character Raiden. While many of the objectives should be familiar to players who already have extensive experience with the new Kombat Kits, there are a few tricky ones mixed in as well.

How To Complete Stage 1 Of The Balance of Power Mortal Kombat Quest

Hit An Opponent With An Entire Combo Using A Kombat Kit

Fortnite Kombat Kit, fighting Scorpion

This quest requires two steps, as you need to acquire a Kombat Kit, and then actually utilize its full combo (linked to the main attack button). Kombat Kits are scattered across the map through world drops and chests, but you can also find them on the ground at the start of a match in the Living Forest (directly southwest of Flooded Frogs, in the swampy area littered with trees).

In Fortnite, the phrase "opponent" refers to NPCs in addition to another player character.

Once you pick one up, aim at an enemy and continue pressing the primary fire button until a full combo has connected. If the quest doesn't pop, you may need to restart the entire combo again. Keep in mind that the combo is separate from the "Signature Move," which is triggered by the alt-fire button. The signature moves for Sub-Zero and Scorpion, respectively, are the ice slide (a locomotion-based attack that propels you forward on a sheet of ice, then attacks) and the spear (a stationary attack that pulls enemies closer to you).

How To Complete Stage 2 Of The Mortal Kombat Quests In Fortnite

Land At The Living Forest At The Start Of A Match

Fortnite Living Forest location

Although this is arguably the easiest quest of all the Balance of Power challenges, you do need to know where you are going to land to get to the Living Forest. You'll find the Living Forest location in the northwest portion of the main map, slightly southwest of Flooded Frogs. You'll know you've made it once you see a bunch of scary-looking trees with faces on them.

To pop this quest, all you need to do is land there after jumping out of the Battle Bus at the very start of the match. You can even do this quest first out of the bunch and use the Kombat Kits located there to complete the rest of the event. While it might not be the best landing spot available, it gets the job done when it comes to clearing the Balance of Power quests.

How To Complete Stage 3 Of The Balance Of Power

Eliminate Players At The Shogun's Arena

This is the hardest quest to complete in the Balance of Power string by far, since you'll have to wait for the Shogun's Arena to spawn and kill other enemy players (not just opponents) in the process. Although you can complete this over multiple playthroughs, getting geared up and taking enemies out in one go is easy.

Similar to Loot Island in past chapters, Shogun's Arena will appear in the middle of a match after the fourth storm circle hits. That means you'll need to waste a bit of time before it actually shows up, so be a little less aggressive if you're trying to complete this quest. Grab long-range weaponry so you can pick off enemy players across the collection of floating islands that comprise the Shogun's Arena.

How To Complete Stage 4 of the Balance of Power Mortal Kombat Quest

Outlast Players While Carrying a Kombat Kit

Fortnite flying over the Living Forest

This quest is simple: all you need to do is outlast (outlive) 100 other players while carrying a Kombat Kit in your inventory. You don't actually need to use it or eliminate anyone with said Kombat Kit, as it just needs to be in your possession while other players are being systemically picked off in your round.

An easy way to complete this quest is to go to the Living Forest immediately as the match begins, ensuring that you're able to reap the benefits of all the early player eliminations. That said, the Living Forest can be a hotspot at the start of matches, so it's essential to either land directly in the center and grab the Kombat Kit before anyone else or come in from the outside with weapons in hand.

How To Complete Stage 5 Of The Balance of Power

Hit An Opponent With A Kombat Kit Signature Move Within 5 Seconds Of Using A Kombat Kit Ability

Fortnite looking at Scorption's Kombat Kit

While this task sounds confusing at first glance, all you need to do is hit your ice slide or spear (Sub-Zero and Scorpion, respectively) after using a Kombat Kit combo within five seconds. In other words, use your primary fire, then your secondary fire, and you're good to go. , this can be done against any opponent, so even summoning Scorpion in the Living Forest will count for this quest.

Sub-Zero's signature move can be used to retreat from or pursue enemies.

If you want to go that route, land in the Living Forest, use the portal to summon Scorpion, and then use a combo, and follow it up with a signature move. Either using Sub-Zero or Scorpion's Kombat Kit will satisfy the quest requirements.

How To Complete Stage 6 Of The Balance of Power

Eliminate An Opponent With Both Kombat Kits

Fortnite Both Kombat Kits

For this quest, you'll need to have both the Sub-Zero and Scorpion Kombat Kits at the same time. There is no hard time limit requirement this time. Still, you will need to think fast and actually use both Kombat Kits to deal damage, then secure the elimination before you're taken out (forcing you to reacquire the two Kombat Kits and start all over again) or someone steals your prey.

As usual, the Living Forest is the best place to get this done since you can find both Kombat Kits there easily. If you summon Scorpion, you can even get the quest done right then and there, completing the final stage of Fortnite's Balance of Power questline.
