Yesterday, November 25, Epic Games added a Nick Fury skin to Shang-Chi hit the Fortnite roster in September, for instance, complete with a cosmetic bundle featuring the hero's Dragon Scale sword and back bling shield.

Prior to Shang-Chi's introduction, the likes of Groot, Daredevil, Deadpool, Black Panther, and Wolverine had entered the mix. The villainous Galactus played an especially significant role late last year in a Season 4 event that ended the Nexus War. At the time, the Galactus-centric content brought a record number of concurrent players to the game, emphasizing how much Fortnite crossovers influence overall engagement. The latest Marvel crossover is bound to inspire another deluge of incoming players.

Nick Fury's infiltration of the Island arguably couldn't have come at a better time. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 went live in mid-September, introducing a supernatural Cube threat that continues to corrupt the Island. Who better to root out the problem than one of the world's most effective spies?

Sometime in the very near future, Chapter 2 will come to an end, according to finale event teaser trailer that Epic Games shared earlier this week. The clip only runs 20 seconds in length and features little in the way of specifics. However, it's clear that players will get a chance to face off against the Cube Queen in an epic battle sure to rock Fortnite to its core. The finale event, aptly titled "The End," will go live next month on December 4 at 4:00 PM EST. As such, details about Epic Games' plans for the long-awaited third chapters should begin making the rounds in the days ahead.
