New unique and cool design combinations for the console. However, despite the numerous versions of the dual-wielded peripheral, Nintendo has not fixed the continuous problem with drift in the Joy-Cons.

Fortnite officially made its way to the Switch in 2018, with ten of the 22 million console owners at the time installing the title. Since then, Nintendo has sold a Fortnite-themed version of the console with yellow and blue Joy-Cons, and images of heads that players can wear in-game adorn the dock and Switch body. It would be remiss to leave out that the game, like other battle royales, does not run well Switch. It does not have the graphical fidelity or stable framerate that other platforms can reach, a disadvantage that makes competitive play that much harder.

The new Joy-Con Bundle is titled the Fortnite Fleet Force Bundle. It comes with a blue left Joy-Con and a yellow right Joy-Con with special banana imagery from within the game. This mirrors the special edition console, which had a Battle Bus on the right blue Joy-Con. Additionally, the bundle contains a voucher for 500 V-Bucks and a code for the Fleet Force in-game Glider and Pickaxe. The bundle will be available for purchase on June 4.

500 V-Bucks and exclusive in-game gear is not a bad deal to go along with two controllers. This isn’t the first time a Fortnite bundle has included exclusives. The Switch's special edition also shipped with codes for the Wildcat Outfit, Sleek Strike Back Bling and 2000 V-Bucks. Players can spend those V-Bucks on items like the special Marvel Skins and the Season 6 Battle once it begins on March 16.

Nintendo’s special editions are usually of top quality, with the last year's Animal Crossing: New Horizons edition of the console a prime example. It will be exciting to see what other editions the company will have with Fortnite moving forward. The game’s collaborations with other franchises could eventually lead to a Marvel x Fortnite x Switch bundle or something similar if all the right stars were to align. At least one could hope for such a thing to happen.
