During Week 11 of Fortnite Season 4, players won't be participating in the regular lineup of Weekly Challenges and will instead have the chance to earn bonus XP during the new XP Xtravaganza. Like the Overtime challenges of previous seasons, the XP Xtravaganza offers players a set of five challenges each week, completed in three stages each. These challenges will net the player 20,000-50,000 XP upon completion.

One Week 11 XP Xtravaganza challenge has players upgrading weapons to new rarities. They will need to first find weapons of a specific rarity, then upgrade the weapons to the next rarity level, which is likely to take some time. For each stage of this challenge, players will be upgrading four weapons, and they do not need to finish all four in a single match. However, this challenge can also be completed in Teams, with each player in a four-person team completing one weapon upgrade, to make it easier for players to finish this task more efficiently. Here's how to easily upgrade weapons during the Fortnite Season 4 Week 11 XP Xtravaganza challenge.

How to Upgrade Weapons in the Fortnite Season 4 XP Xtravaganza

Upgrade benches were first added to Fortnite at the start of Chapter 2 as a way for players to obtain better weapons without needing to wait for random loot drops. These are located throughout the map, with at least one at every single named location. Most are found inside buildings, so players will want to head indoors and look around to upgrade their equipment.

This challenge, like all the others during the XP Xtravaganza, takes place in three stages. In the first stage, players need to upgrade 4 weapons to Uncommon rarity. In the second stage, which has to take place in a separate match from the first four, they will need to upgrade 4 weapons to Rare rarity. Then, in the third stage of the challenge, they will need to upgrade 4 weapons to Epic rarity.

Every upgrade will require players to have a certain number of materials on hand, so it may be wise to farm materials first. To get a weapon from Common to Uncommon, players will need 50 each of Wood, Metal, and Stone. To get a weapon from Uncommon to Rare, players need 150 each of Wood, Metal, and Stone. Finally, to get a weapon from Rare to Epic, players need 250 each of Wood, Metal, and Stone.

Unless the player needs to grab some materials first, t's a good idea to land at a named location and grab loot right away. Players should keep searching until they find a weapon in the starting rarity they need (common, uncommon, or rare). Then, they can take it inside to that named location's upgrade bench. They'll need to interact with the bench to upgrade the weapon to the next rarity.

This challenge, like all the others during the XP Xtravaganza, can be completed with a team, and this is recommended. With a team of four, all four players can grab and upgrade a single weapon, rather than one player trying to upgrade all four alone. This way, each stage of the challenge can be completed in a single match. All teammates who participate will receive credit for the weapon their fellow teammates upgraded, and each will receive 20,000 XP.
