Jennifer Aniston recently sat down with Friends. Aniston bared her soul to the magazine, saying, "We [the Friends cast] really loved each other and we took care of each other. I don’t know why it still resonates; there are no iPhones. It’s just people talking to each other. Nobody talks to each other anymore."

After wrapping up Friends, Aniston went on to do romantic comedies such as The Break-Up, He’s Just Not That Into You, and Just Go With It, and these movies shared quite a few similarities with her iconic sitcom. Friends assimilates themes such as friendship, career, and relationships, and it particularly excels at its depiction of love. The beloved six have had several charming encounters with strangers, and some meetings have led to swoon-worthy romances.

Rachel And Joshua

Joshua And Rachel Friends

In "The One With Rachel's Crush," Joshua Burgin walked into Bloomingdale's right after Rachel was demoted to a personal shopper. He, in fact, was the reason she changed her mind and decided to stay on the job that she considered a huge step-down. He became her client and she helped curate his wardrobe.

Joshua was the handsome stranger who stole Rachel's heart the moment she laid eyes on him. Their encounter was flirtatious, and his vibe stopped Rachel in her tracks. She was happy about spending her workday with him, and this meet-cute successfully set the course for their romance.

Emily And Ross

Emily Waltham looking at Ross Geller at a bed and breakfast at Vermont in Friends.

Though Emily Waltham is one of the most hated ing Friends characters, she and Ross had a whirlwind romance, arguably unlike any other pair. Their first encounter arose out of a coincidence and ended with the two of them at a bed-and-breakfast in Vermont.

Emily had just flown in from London and her uncle, who was Rachel's superior at Bloomingdale's, had instructed his employee to show her niece a good time. Rachel wanted to spend her time with Joshua, and she convinced Ross to go with Emily instead. Emily and Ross's meet-cute demonstrated that they had more than just chemistry, and they were drawn to each other from the very beginning.

Chandler And Aurora

Chandler talking to Aurora in Friends.

Aurora from "The One with the Butt," was one of Friends. He met her at one of the most unexpected places — Joey's awful musical, Freud! The most endearing part about Aurora and Chandler's first encounter was the unspoken mutual attraction between them.

Aurora took notice of Chandler just as he did of her, and she was quite taken by his goofy mannerisms. There were fireworks in an otherwise dull theater, and if it wasn't for Chandler's reservations about Aurora's polyamory, they would have built a strong, intimate relationship.

Phoebe And Rob

Rob Donnan standing behind Ross and Phoebe at Central Perk in Friends.

Rob Donnan scheduled performers for children's libraries, and he visited Central Perk in "The One After The Super Bowl - Part 1" to see Phoebe play. The gang quickly noticed him, and Phoebe pretended she was busy cracking jokes with her friends when he really had her attention the whole time. Rob watched Phoebe walk up the stage, praised her music, and offered her to play.

Rob's assertive yet calm demeanor struck a chord with Phoebe, and she was completely charmed by him. Their meet-cute was short and sweet, and they couldn't help but smile at each other throughout. Thanks to Rob's charisma, Phoebe agreed to play at the children's concerts at the local library.

Phoebe And Clifford

Phoebe talking to Clifford Burnett at a hospital in Friends.

Phoebe got herself into plenty of sticky situations, and Clifford Burnett was initially one of them. They meet in a hospital lobby, and she helps him get inside the elevator. They strike up a brief but flirty conversation about his leg injury but the door closes seconds before she has the chance to ask for his room number.

Phoebe does eventually find out the room number but acts wrongly and enlists Joey's help in gathering personal information about Clifford. Clifford figures out Phoebe's scheme but agrees to give her a second chance, thanks to her quirky mannerisms. Their meeting makes them realize they have a rare connection and they agree to meet for dinner.

Kristen And Ross

Joey Chandler Ross talking at Central Perk in Friends.

As Ross gathers the courage to ask Kristen Riggs out on a date in "The One with the Candy Hearts," she takes a chance and shouts "Hi!" to him. She looks continuously in his direction, and it turns out she has met him before.

Ross explains to Chandler and Joey that Kristen lent him an egg once, and they, in turn, convince him to walk up to her and return it back. At the end of these two adorable encounters, Kristen seems impressed by the whole exchange of eggs, and thus agrees to go out on a date with Ross. Kristen and Ross' egg exchange accurately depicts flirtatious and awkward adult meet cutes and for a guy who's bad at flirting, Ross comes off as suave.

Ross And Mona

Ross talking to Mona at Monica and Chandler's wedding in Friends.

Mona, Monica's colleague at the restaurant, meets Ross in "The One After I Do." She sees him at the wedding right in the hallway outside the reception room. They happen to check their table number simultaneously, and Ross is the first to make conversation. He introduces himself and they exchange pleasantries.

While the first conversation is awkward, it helps both of them navigate each other's body language to see if they are interested. Mona is coy and flirty in her replies, and Ross tries his best to make a good impression on her. Their meet-cute lays the groundwork for their relationship and a couple of episodes later, they successfully enter the dating phase.

Ross And Julie

Rachel talking to Ross and Julie at an airport in Friends.

Julie was one of Friends. They were in grad school together, and reconnect as paleontologists at a later point in their lives.

Julie is in charge of the China dig that Ross is called to participate in at the end of season 1. Their fascinating paleontological field experiences include being on a 200-year-old bus and a story about a chicken that pooped in Julie's lap. Julie and Ross' meet-cute is romantic since they both were in the same field and lived in NYC but still had the chance to meet as lovers in a different country.

Joey And Cecilia

Joey Tribbiani looking at Cecilia Monroe on Days of our lives set in Friends.

Cecilia Monroe played the in-universe fictional character of Jessica Lockhart on Days of our Lives. Lockhart was written out and her brain was transplanted into Joey's DOOL character - Dr. Drake Ramoray. This meant that Joey's character finally came out of the coma and made his comeback on the show, and Cecilia Monroe exited the DOOL landscape.

Joey who'd never interacted with Cecilia before walked up to her on the set and asked her acting advice. Though Cecilia was surprised and agitated about being fired she did eventually help Joey with how to play her character. Their follow-up conversations and the events of "The One with Joey’s New Brain" demonstrated that Joey and Cecilia had an intense chemistry and a unique connection. They had a brief fling, but Jessica left Joey to take an acting job in Mexico.

In "The One With Rachel's Assistant," an attractive man named Tag Jones entered Rachel's office to interview for an assistant job. Rachel developed a crush on him and hired him in place of another experienced and qualified candidate.

Rachel and Tag's brief but endearing love affair all started with this little charming interview in her office. She seemed confident and in charge of the conversation, and he politely answered all her questions. She was attracted to him, and he was completely charmed by the woman who could potentially be his boss.
