There are many iconic relationships on the hit sitcom Friends. Ross and Rachel one of the most well-known television couples. Additionally, Joey and Chandler have a strong friendship that viewers love and ire. However, a great dynamic on the series that is not frequently talked about is the one between Ross and Phoebe.

Ross and Phoebe are an interesting pair, as they’re complete opposites. Phoebe is carefree and imaginative, whereas Ross is more logical and up-tight. Their differences lead to many comedic moments between them. In fact, some of Ross and Phoebe's scenes are the funniest in the series.

When Phoebe Learns She Mugged Ross

In "The One With The Mugging," Ross tells Phoebe about the time he got mugged outside a comic book store as a child. The mugger took his backpack, which included his original comic “Science Boy.” Phoebe later confesses to Monica that she was the one who mugged Ross as a kid. 

Later, Phoebe confesses the crime to Ross, but he doesn’t believe her at first. To prove it, Phoebe grabs his ear and says, “Give me your money, punk.” The scene becomes even funnier when Phoebe says the memory is a good thing, as it gives them a connection that goes way back. 

When They Fight About Evolution

Ross and Phoebe disagree about evolution.

In "The One Where Heckles Dies," Phoebe angers Ross because she doesn't believe in evolution. Throughout the episode, Ross becomes obsessed with convincing Phoebe evolution is a scientific fact.

Eventually, Phoebe tells Ross that many great scientists have been wrong in the past, so there's a possibility he could be wrong about evolution. When Ross agrees, Phoebe claims that he caved too easily. She further pokes fun at him by asking, "How, how are you going to face the other science guys? How, how are you going to face yourself?"

When They Almost Sleep Together

Janice asks the friends if any of them have slept together in the episode "The One With The Flashback." The audience proceeds to get the answer to that question as the show goes back in time. Surprisingly, the characters that got the closest to sleeping together in the past were Phoebe and Ross.

When Ross finds out his wife Carol is a lesbian, he talks it out with Phoebe. As she comforts him, they end up kissing. Ross hits his head on a lamp while they struggle to make out on a pool table. Also, Ross accidentally makes an innuendo when he says some pool balls are in the way. The physical comedy and awkwardness of this scene make it hysterical.

When They Chase Rachel To The Airport

In the finale of Friends, Ross realizes that he still loves Rachel. Unfortunately, she gets a new job in Paris. When she goes to the airport to leave, Ross decides to go after her and confess his feelings.

He gets to the airport with the help of Phoebe, who drives him in her cab. The entire scene where they’re in the car is hilarious, as Phoebe drives fast and furious to get him there on time. Viewers laugh as she yells at Ross, accidentally throws quarters at the window, and bumps heads with him during the chaotic drive.

When They Share A Secret

Ross tells Phoebe he didn't get an annulment.

After Ross and Rachel drunkenly get married in Vegas, they plan to get an annulment. However, Ross chickens out, as he doesn’t want another failed marriage to his name. In "The One Where Ross Hugs Rachel," he tells Phoebe that he didn't get the annulment and that he and Rachel are still married. 

When she hears this, Phoebe demands an explanation from him. She sends Rachel off in a cab multiple times while she talks to Ross in private. Phoebe and Ross's conversation is incredibly entertaining, progressing from tense to giddy.

When Phoebe Is Mad At Ross

In “The One With Joey’s Big Break,” Phoebe is mad at Ross. But the problem is, she can’t why. Ross wants to know what happened, so he makes a list of all the reasons Phoebe could be mad at him.

When that doesn’t work, Ross uses her quick answer game to find the truth. Phoebe then realizes that she’s mad at Ross because he said she was boring. The punchline comes when Ross asks her when that happened, and she re that it only occurred in a dream

When Phoebe Sings As Ross Plays The Bagpipes

In "The One With Joey's New Brain," the engaged couple Monica and Chandler are upset when they find out Ross wants to play the bagpipes at their wedding. But, when they tell him he can’t, Ross makes a last-ditch effort to make it happen by performing for the group. 

As Ross plays a terrible-sounding version of the song “Celebration" by Kool & The Gang, he asks them to sing along. Phoebe mimics the sound of the bagpipe, making a hysterical screeching noise. In a blooper of this scene, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer can’t stop laughing, just like the audience can't.

When Ross Teaches Phoebe How To Ride A Bike

In "The One With All The Candy," Ross gives Phoebe her first-ever bike. She is thrilled but doesn’t know how to ride it. Ross tries to teach her, but she gets angry that he lets go of her after promising that he wouldn’t. 

Afterward, Phoebe pretends the bike was stolen. However, it’s obviously in her bedroom under a sheet. Ross then gives an imioned and hilarious speech about how the bike will die if it’s not ridden. She rolls her eyes and agrees. When he leaves the room, Phoebe whispers to the bike, “Please don’t die!”

When They Are Terrible Actors

In "The One With Mac And C.H.E.E.S.E.," Joey gets an audition for the new television show “Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E.” Phoebe helps Joey read lines, but he stops her because she's over-acting. Phoebe, on the other hand, is blown away by how good she is.

Later in the episode, Ross and Phoebe both dramatically read characters in the script. Joey criticizes both of them for their terrible acting. When Joey leaves, Ross and Phoebe agree that Joey is holding them back. Their confidence in their non-existent acting skills is very comical.

When They Date A Separated Couple

In "The One With The Engagement Picture," Ross and Phoebe begin dating Whitney and Kyle, a couple who are getting a divorce. However, the two act like they’re the ones who are getting a divorce. 

The funniest moment between them in this episode occurs when they argue at Central Perk. They bring up fights Whitney and Kyle had over paint, emotional unavailability, and a New Year’s Eve incident. Finally, Ross asks Phoebe what more she wants from Whitney, and she yells, “We want the last six years back!”
