Naturally, with all the emotional ups and downs, there has been a plethora of heartwarming scenes. Each character has, at some point, shown their softer, caring side, resulting in scripts that encom the moment. Whilst the audiences have been able to laugh heartily at the sitcom, there are also been times full of heartwarming quotes that add to the series' narrative.

Chandler:

"Because I'm In Love With Monica!"

Monica and Chandler sit at a table in the apartment having coffee in Friends.

It was the relationship that no one saw coming, not even the characters closest to them. But Monica and Chandler stole each other's hearts and it became one of the best relationships on Friends.

Before they revealed their status to their friends, the pair kept it to themselves by tip-toeing around to avoid any suspicions being raised, until Chandler exclaimed his love for Monica. It was such a beautiful moment because Chandler isn't always the most upfront with his feelings and he could've said something with less meaning like 'we're just dating.' But there he was in front of his friends declaring his love, without any shadow of a doubt.

Joey:

"She's My Friend And She Needed Help. If I Had To, I'd Pee On Any One Of You."

Joey's shocked face in Friends

Upon reading this quote, it may not come across as the most heartwarming, but the context makes it clearer as to why it is. Monica was stung by a jellyfish and Joey volunteered himself to pee on her to help ease the pain.

The heartwarming element comes in when it's realized that Joey was doing an embarrassing thing, simply for the benefit of his friend, making her better. He also adds the comment "I'd pee on any on of you," proving Joey's loyalty in Friends, because the embarrassing gesture that he was willing to do, he'd happily apply to anyone he loved.

Monica:

"You Know How Much I Love That Kid."

Monica

Young toddlers encounter all sorts of bumps and scrapes while they're trying to navigate themselves through the world. However, sometimes it can happen in the care of responsible adults, as Monica found out. After accidentally bumping Ben's head, Ross winds her up by pretending he was seriously injured. Once she found out, she became upset because of how much she loves her nephew.

It's a heartwarming quote because she was so worried about hurting Ben that the emotion became overwhelming for her (and the relief to know he was ok caused her to express how much she cares for her nephew). She'd obviously never want any harm to come to him and would feel immeasurable guilt if anything happened.

Rachel:

"I'm Fine."

Rachel and The List in Friends

Rachel falls into her new life by bumping into her old friend Monica and from there she ditches her self-centered ways to be a part of a loving friendship group. She cuts up her credit cards and after doing this, her bank checks that everything is ok.

Her heartwarming quote comes as she looks at her friends and is able to breathe a sigh of relief because she knows she is in safe hands. She acknowledges that she has walked in on some great people who have accepted her, with Monica taking her under her wing, showing her how great life can be. The quote also proves contentment, which Rachel may not have reached in her previous life.

Phoebe:

"See, He's Her Lobster."

Phoebe Buffay at Central Perk in Friends

The on-again, off-again saga with Ross and Rachel is a captivating storyline that kept audiences hooked throughout the whole series.

Once they get together, Phoebe's point is proven about Ross being Rachel's "lobster," in a really sweet moment. It's such a typical Phoebe quote, something that no one else would say, but it's full of heartwarming meaning. She evidently believes the pair are made for each other and she's only too pleased to see them kiss.

Ross:

"If You Ever Hurt My Little Sister, If You Ever Cause Her Any Unhappiness Of Any Kind, I Will Hunt You Down And Kick Your A**"

As the best sibling duo in Friends, Ross and Monica go through the trials and tribulations of life together and love each other dearly. When Chandler is soon to marry Monica, Ross steps in with a brotherly word to the groom, out of protectiveness towards his sister.

The quote is heartwarming because not only is Ross trying to make sure Monica has a lifetime of happiness and that Chandler never hurts her, but he's also plucking up the courage to say it to his best friend. He proves that he will defend his sister against anyone, even if it means having a stern conversation with his closest buddy.

Joey:

"You Can't Just Give Up! Is That What A Dinosaur Would Do?"

As one of the best characters in Friends, Joey always tries his best to be ive of his friends and look out for them whenever he can. When Ross feels defeated in trying to tell Rachel how he feels, Joey swoops in with his brilliant quote.

Not only is it heartwarming because he's encouraging Ross to go after what he wants and to be happy, but he also infiltrates what Ross has a ion for (dinosaurs), even though it's not really relevant. Joey thinks that by mentioning dinosaurs, it might inspire Ross a little more.

Rachel:

"I Was Spoiled, Self Centered. And You Guys Really Took Care Of Me."

Rachel Green in Ross's apartment in Friends

Although she was a character way ahead of her time in Friends, Rachel's friends managed to get to her just before she became absorbed by her self-centered, spoiled younger self, by intervening and showing her how life can be different. Unfortunately, her sisters weren't given the same opportunity. So, when Amy comes to stay, she upsets a lot of people including Joey.

Rachel's heartwarming moment comes when she explains to Joey how her sister's story is similar to hers and she acknowledges how all her friends stepped in to help her. She used her own experience to ground herself and help Amy, even though it would've been easy to turn her back, because of how much disruption her sister was causing in her life.

Ross:

"I've Never Played My Stuff For Anyone Before."

It's no secret that Ross' musical talents are far from excellent. His days in a high school band didn't really give him much skill, nor did he pick up any in adulthood.

However, he is inspired to take to his keyboard once again and show his friends. Although it may not have been particularly pleasing for their ears, the quote was sweet as it showed Ross felt comfortable enough to show the group what he believed to be a good thing. He wanted them to be the first to hear it, because of how close they all are, demonstrating that they truly were the best of friends.

Joey:

"I Love You Man."

Joey holding a bunch of soda cans in Friends

Joey doesn't really hide his emotions and can be quite open with how he feels. His commitment to his friends is unmatched and it's clear that he would do anything for them.

After Joey pays Chandler back for some of the financial he's given him, Joey tells him he loves him. There isn't much complexity to the quote, but the simple fact that Joey is willing to openly tell his friend he loves him is heartwarming in itself. It's a sure sign that Joey does appreciate how Chandler lends him money without question. Sometimes a few words can say it all.
