The gang on Friends don't experience a lot of threats in their daily life. Sure, they're not always having a great time, as being a twentysomething is hard thanks to dating problems, conflict with friends, and career stress. But the New York City setting of the popular sitcom doesn't offer much terror besides the frustrations of living in a big urban setting. And, of course, Monica and Rachel live in Monica's grandma's apartment, so they don't even have to deal with the high rents in Manhattan.
In many ways, Friends is a perfect 1990's show, but what if the characters starred in a horror film? Which characters would survive, and which ones wouldn't be able to make it out alive?
Phoebe Buffay
Phoebe isn't always a caring pal, and yet the bubbly character, played by Lisa Kudrow, is one of the most popular on any sitcom
Phoebe seems like she would die first in a horror movie because of her naive and sometimes odd personality. She is a pretty happy-go-lucky person and wouldn't assume that she was going to get murdered. If the horror movie was a ghost story, she would probably try to befriend it and would have no clue that anything sinister was happening.
Joey Tribbiani
With his hilarious quotes and handsome face, Joey (Matt LeBlanc) is a fan favorite as well, known for his love of food (and refusal to share) and flirty personality. He's a kind person, but he's not as intelligent as some of the others on the show, and that would be his downfall.
Unfortunately, Joey would die pretty quickly if he was part of a scary story, as it would take him quite a while to get his butt in gear and actually run from danger. He would probably scream a lot and talk to himself about how the situation was just like a horror movie, and then he would realize that he was actually experiencing the same thing.
Janice
Janice (Maggie Wheeler) may date Chandler for a while, but it's safe to say that Friends fans never really warmed to her as she has an irritating voice and not the most enticing personality.
It's not very likely that Janice would make it through an entire horror film, as she would probably fight with the killer/supernatural creature and be mean to them. She would also laugh in her trademark annoying way and upset them even more, which wouldn't work out well.
Richard Burke
Tom Selleck's Friends character, Richard, is more traditional than anyone else on the sitcom. He also seems like more of an adult since he's older, has kids, and used to be married.
Richard would next to go in a horror movie, as he is probably the least familiar with this genre, and he would have no idea how to defend himself or what to do. It would definitely be a tough scene to watch and his death would be a sad one.
Mike Hannigan
Phoebe had a big choice between Mike and David, and many fans are glad that she chose Mike (Paul Rudd) as they seem so well-matched.
Mike would likely survive for at least half of the horror movie, and he might even make it to the end as he seems like a smart, intuitive person who can think on his feet. He might come up with an amazing plan out of nowhere and everyone would be super impressed with him.
Ross Geller
Ross (David Schwimmer) might be able to survive a horror movie because he would get so scared that he would hide somewhere. He would whimper and cry most of the time, as Ross is a highly sensitive guy, and his quick thinking would save his life.
Ross isn't the most popular character on the show but he is smarter than a lot of fans give him credit for, so he might surprise people by doing really well in a horror movie.
Chandler Bing
Chandler (Matthew Perry) is famous for his wit and he has an answer for everything. At times he seems smart and at other times, he seems to fit right in with his ditzy roommate Joey.
Chandler is one of the Friends characters who would be least likely to die if he was being tormented by a killer. He would have some funny quips the entire time, which would make his scenes funny to watch. He would also be kept alive as the movie would want him for some humorous and light moments.
Gunther
James Michael Tyler's Friends character Gunther isn't an actual part of the friend group and yet it's hard to imagine the show without him.
Gunther would be a wild card if the cast of Friends starred in a horror movie. At the end of the story, any survivors would learn that he got away, too, and he would have some interesting explanation for how he got away. No one would expect him to be so tough, and he would be proud of himself.
Rachel Green
Rachel does some questionable things on Friends and yet she'll always be a beloved character. Even when she messes up, she's funny and charming and someone who is just trying to grow up.
Rachel is a little ditzy sometimes, but she would rise to the occasion if she found herself in a scary life or death situation. She would be able to fight off a killer and she would be amazed that she was able to do that. Fans would know that she had it in her the whole time.
Monica Geller
It would be interesting to see Monica (Courteney Cox) in a horror movie, as the actress plays Gail Weathers in the horror franchise Scream.
Unlike that reporter character, who is cold and mean and only looks out for herself, Monica is friendly and cares about other people. Monica would still win a horror movie, though. She would organize everyone and tell people how to keep themselves safe, and she's so trustworthy and intelligent that everyone would believe her. She has a tough personality and would definitely be able to take on a terrifying situation. And at the end of the movie, once the killer was gone or the scariest part was over, she would make everyone a nice meal to decompress.
