As needing answers in From season 3. From is a captivating series on MGM+ that follows the harrowing journey of the unwilling residents trapped within a mysterious town. They are faced with the challenge of not only finding a way back home but also fighting against the nightmarish creatures that torment them in a relentless struggle for survival.
In From season 1, their primary concern centered around safeguarding themselves by hanging talismans near their doors, ensuring the creatures remained unable to enter their houses at night. However, in season 2, the horror escalated as visions infiltrated the minds of multiple characters, tainted blood plagued Boyd Stevens, and characters were killed in their sleep, which left the remaining residents hesitant to rest. As From season 2 reached its ending, a number of questions were raised for season 3 to explore.
13 Is Tabitha Dead in From’s Town?
In the climactic last moments of From season 2, Tabitha reached the lighthouse in an attempt to save her daughter and the other residents of the town. When she reached the top she was met by the figure known as The Boy in White, who pushed her out the glass of the lighthouse. In a shocking turn, Tabitha woke in a hospital bed and was met by a doctor informing her that she was found unconscious on the side of the road.
There was no mention of any other individuals with her, which indicated that she has been separated from her family. With Tabitha's body traveling through the portal, it would seem that her physical form would no longer exist in Fromville. However, Tabitha followed the same path previously taken by Victor's mother, as Victor revealed that he found his mother's body outside the Faraway tree after the town's massacre.
This leaves the possibility open that what Victor saw was a vision of his mother, that she actually died that night, or that she had escaped and a version of her body was left behind. Unlike the people who die within the town, Tabitha managed to escape through the portal, which would leave the residents to perceive her as missing, or potentially an alternate version of her body will be found outside the Faraway tree.
12 Will Tabitha Be Able To Reunite With Her Family?
With Tabitha's escape in the From season 2 finale, a heartbreaking separation from her family has ensued as she is left to worry about their fates in the town. Tabitha finds herself in a frustrating predicament, as no one around her would believe her stories of the town and there is no known conventional way of getting back to her family. However, there is the possibility that Victor's mother is also in the real world, as she was headed toward the lighthouse like Tabitha.
If so, Tabitha would be able to track down Victor's mother, and their partnership could help them make their way back to their loved ones. But in the case of Kristi's fiancée, Marielle, she may have been able to reunite with Kristi through her desperation to see her. A person's desperation to be reunited with their loved ones in the town could come into play as Tabitha searches for answers on how to find the doorway to Fromville.
11 Is The Lighthouse A Portal To Home?
In From season 2, there was a large emphasis on the lighthouse, as viewers learn that Victor's mother was trying to reach it on the night she disappeared. Tabitha decided she would follow the same path and go to the lighthouse, driven by an urgency to find the answers to save her daughter and the others in the town. When the Boy in White pushed Tabitha out of the lighthouse, she woke up in a hospital bed in what seemed like reality. Lighthouses signify a beacon of safe travel and are a symbol of home and security. The lighthouse in From transported Tabitha to what seemed like the real world, making it the one known way to escape the horrors of the town.
10 Who Is From's Boy In White?
In From's season 2 finale, viewers are reintroduced to the Boy in White, as he is seen with Tabitha at the top of the lighthouse before pushing her through the portal. Throughout the series, The Boy in White has acted like a guardian angel to of the town, as he saved Victor from the massacre when he was a kid and told Victor to wait for Tabitha in the tunnels in From's season 1 finale. The Boy in White is seemingly the most powerful individual in the town, considering that he appears to know the inner workings of everything that is happening and knows what will happen in the future.
It is unknown what his true intentions are, but two conclusions can be drawn from the information given. It is plausible that he bares the responsibility for the captive ghost children, meaning he sent Tabitha back to reality as a means to stop her interference. Alternatively, he may genuinely serve as a guardian figure and sent Tabitha back to find answers beyond the confines of the town. Either way, Sarah notes that he is not a young boy, which suggests that she may have perceived him as something entirely different.
9 What Is The Significance Of The Symbol In The Tunnel?
Throughout From season 2, Jade becomes obsessed with the symbol he saw carved into the tree as he was having his haunting vision of the Civil War soldier. This symbol took hold of Jade's psyche, as he continuously sketches it as well as creates a glass bottle formation of it, only to smash it in a way to get a different perspective.
Driven by his insatiable curiosity, Jade eventually ventures into the tunnels where he finds the children who chant "anghkooey" on slabs of rock. When the children appear so does the symbol above them in the form of roots. These roots could potentially attach to the Faraway trees that have been used in ways to help the residents survive and in Tabitha's case, escape.
8 Who Are The Children In Tabitha & Jade's Visions & Why Are They Laying On The Rocks?
The ethereal presence of the children is a major part of From season 2's narrative as Victor's mother says in a flashback that she must save the children to free everyone in town. Tabitha, too, finds herself haunted by visions of these enigmatic figures, while their chant "anghkooey" echoes around her as she treads the path blazed by Victor's mother. Jade also bears witness to a vision of these children assembled in a circle of stone beds, which evoked notions of an ancient ritual. It is plausible that these children were unwittingly offered as sacrifices, intended to bring prosperity to the town, but perhaps brought a curse instead.
Moreover, they could connect to the new arrival Tilly, as they could be the seven grandchildren she spoke of. There were also seven people in the prayer circle Tilly led when she recited Psalm 23:4, which is a age in the Bible that urges faith in a higher power in the presence of evil. With all this information it is clear that the ghost children must be rescued if the townspeople want any opportunity to escape the horrors.
7 Is Jim’s Theory That The Town Is A Cruel Experiment True?
One of the biggest questions in From is why the people of the town are there in the first place. In season 1, Jade and Jim tried to set up a radio tower that could people to come and rescue them, as they assumed that they were part of the real world. However, their radio setup was ruined in the massive storm, but before that happened, Jim received a message instructing him to stop his wife from digging a hole in their basement.
Moving into season 2, Jim finds himself increasingly convinced that the residents of the town are mere pawns in a cruel experiment. This point is further emphasized by the fact of their food, livestock, and other supplies in the town came to be for an unknown reason. However, with Tabitha falling through the portal back into the real world it is likely that there is something more supernatural or mythical at play in regard to why they are trapped in the town.
6 Can From's Characters Really Stop The Monsters?
In From season 2, viewers finally witnessed one of the nightmare creatures die, as Boyd, driven by desperation, bravely inflicted a wound upon himself and the smiley monster, allowing the transfer of the worm blood he obtained from Martin. This transfer resulted in the creature falling to its death. In the autopsy, they learn that the body is the same internally as a human's, except for the fact that it is devoid of any fluids aside from the gallbladder's bile.
Boyd then covers bullets in the bile in an attempt to kill the monsters, but he runs away after a few shots seemed to have failed him. These creatures seem to have no weaknesses aside from the one transfer of blood shown. With this knowledge, unless the townspeople can get more worm blood the only other way to rid themselves of the monsters is to escape the town themselves. There's also the possibility that it was never the worm blood and just their natural human blood that is poison to the monsters, meaning they could utilize that as a defense against them.
5 What Did Christopher Do To The Town When Victor Was A Kid?
Victor is the longest-remaining resident of the town, meaning he existed at a time when there were no talismans keeping the monsters out of their homes. Christopher arrived in the town around the same time as Victor and was initially kind. However, a significant shift occurred in his demeanor once he began encountering the very symbol that Jade is now pursuing.
Victor, aware of the sinister forces at play, warned Jade to steer clear of these symbols, stating, "There are bad things here. They make people do bad things." On the night of the massacre, Victor's mother warned him and his sister to hide somewhere that no one knows, which alluded to staying hidden from Christopher. This could mean that the symbol could have corrupted him, aligning him with the very forces that inflict terror upon the town.
4 What Really Happened To Victor's Sister Eloise?
On the night Victor's mother disappeared, she told him and his sister Eloise to remain in the cellar. Eloise is nowhere to be found in the present day, leaving two possible scenarios. Either she embarked on a journey alongside her mother to the lighthouse, or she tragically met her demise during the horrifying massacre that unfolded that night.
It is clear that Eloise seemed to have visions of what was to happen in the town as depicted in her drawings like the bottle tree, the Civil War soldier, and the lighthouse. Her visions are similar to the ones other characters have in the show such as Sarah and Boyd, and they may have protected her from the town, rendering her simply missing and offering the hope of a future reunion with Victor.
