The horror genre continues to be a major draw for audiences in movie theaters and on streaming. Most discussion of horror, however, is usually limited to movies, as there are far fewer TV shows in the genre that manage to break through. Though the 2000s was somewhat barren when it came to horror on the small screen, this changed in the 2010s. American Horror Story has been going strong now since 2011, for example, and the cancelled Channel Zero ran for four seasons starting in 2016. The Walking Dead universe also remains popular.
The rise of horror on TV really took off, however, with the rise of streaming and, specifically, the rise of Mike Flanagan. Flanagan brought shows like The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, and Midnight Mass, among others to life. Streaming allows filmmakers to push horror boundaries on TV, as has been seen recently with Teacup on Peacock. There's another horror show, though, which has been flying under the radar and delivering some genuine scares.
From Finds Renewed Success On Streaming
The Horror Show Succeeds With Viewers After Season 3 Premiere
From has become a major hit on streaming as new episodes of season 3 are released. First airing in 2022 and created by John Griffin, the MGM+ horror show follows the residents of a town in the U.S. who are unable to leave as they fend off the sinister threats of the forest that surrounds them. Harold Perrineau leads the show's cast as Boyd Stevens, with Catalina Sandino Moreno, Eion Bailey, David Alpay, and Elizabeth Saunders also starring. From season 3 premiered in September, earning positive reviews and contributing to the show's 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

From TV Show Cast & Character Guide
Led by Harold Perrineau's Sheriff Boyd, From's cast of characters is what make the supernatural horror series work so well even several seasons in.
As new episodes of From season 3 continue to be released, new data from Reelgood reveals that From ranks as the eighth most popular show on streaming in the U.S. for the week of October 24 – 30. The show beats other titles like Matlock and Rivals, but falls short of other TV shows like The Lincoln Lawyer, Lioness, High Potential, and, in first place, Only Murders in the Building. From, notably, is the only horror TV show to make the list. Check out the full top 10 TV shows list below:

What From's Streaming Popularity Means For Season 4's Chances
Will The MGM+ Show Be Renewed?
Season 3 may be propelling the show to streaming success on Reelgood's charts, but From season 4 hasn't yet gotten the green light. Though some extremely popular shows are renewed before seasons finish airing (or before they've even premiered), the MGM+ show has thus far been renewed after each season has been fully released. Since there are still three episodes to go in season 3, a season 4 announcement may still be more than a month away.
The strong streaming performance accompanies From season 3's 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and reviews praise the show for its scares, unpredictable storytelling, and performances.
Several stars have expressed interest in From returning for season 4, and potentially beyond. In an interview with RadioTimes, Perrineau says that, while he doesn't have any information about the show's return, "I'm assuming that we're going to have a season 4." He continues: "it seems like worldwide that people are really enjoying the show, and so I'm just going to assume that there is one, but I don't ask any questions." Perrineau isn't the only star to address the show's future, with Saunders saying: "I hope we'll get at least a couple more seasons out of it."

10 Fitting Horror TV Shows To Watch In The Fall
As the weather turns colder and the nights grow longer, the fall season is the perfect time to watch incredible bone-chilling horror TV shows.
The strong streaming performance accompanies From season 3's 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and reviews praise the show for its scares, unpredictable storytelling, and performances. It's unclear if From season 3 will end on a cliffhanger or not, but things are so far looking promising for the show's future.
Our Take On From's Streaming Performance
Is MGM+ Holding The Show Back From Greater Success?
The streaming service hierarchy features Netflix at the top by a considerable margin, with Prime Video, Max, and Disney+ fighting for the following positions. MGM+, which is also a cable network, is likely miniscule by comparison, with a considerably smaller subscriber base. From being on MGM+ could actually be what's holding it back from being an even bigger hit. If From was a Netflix TV show, for example, it would have a much wider reach.
The fact that From is making an impact and competing with other shows on larger streaming services is impressive, and it speaks to the show's growing, ionate fan base. If the MGM+ show does return for season 4, it could end up becoming even more widely seen as more viewers catch on. It's not clear what From's budget is per season, but it's probably not wildly expensive. If the show were to get cancelled, it's entirely possible, rights permitting, that it could get picked up elsewhere. Signs so far, however, suggest that From's run at MGM+ isn't over.
New episodes of From season 3 release on Sundays on MGM+ at 9pm ET.
