Kristen Bell recently revealed her choice of who should portray Anna in Disney's live-action adaptation of Frozen that is most exciting for viewers. Now the original voice of Anna, Bell, has officially given her pick of who should play her.

Bell was recently interviewed by King's most notable projects include The Kissing Booth, Bullet Train, and most recently, Netflix's Uglies.

Joey King Could Be A Great Anna For Live-Action Frozen

King Has Anna's Quirky Charm

As it turns out, Bell's pick isn't too far out of left field. King is an established and talented actress who could most definitely take on the . Throughout her career, King has shown that she can play roles that are both serious and comedic. In this way, she would certainly be able to balance Anna's goofiness with the high stakes of Frozen's plot. Furthermore, King has worked on both children's and adult projects. Thus, she can also strike a chord with both young audiences and older moviegoers.

While King has played very dramatic roles, she has also proven through her comedies and her social media that she can be incredibly silly.

It also helps that King shares some qualities with Anna. King is close in age to Anna, and looks fairly similar to her, with dark hair that could lean towards red or orange. More importantly, though, King seems to have a personality that aligns with Anna's awkward charm. While King has played very dramatic roles, she has also proven through her comedies and her social media that she can be incredibly silly. This makes her a great candidate to play Anna, who has to be as quirky in the live-action adaptation as she was in the animated film.

Disney's Live-Action Frozen Must Happen Soon If Joey King Is Going To Play Anna

King's Age Versus Anna's Age

King may be an ideal choice to play Anna, but there's one big problem: her age. King is 25 years old. In Frozen, Anna is 18. Already, there is quite an age gap between the two, but King has been known to play younger characters. For example, in her most recent movie, Uglies, King played a 16-year-old. However, King can only play teenagers for so long. The older she gets, the more strange it will be for her to play such a youthful character. Arguably, it would be better to have an actress closer to Anna's age portray her.

Anya Taylor-Joy wants to star in a live-action Frozen remake from Disney, revealing which role she would want in the movie if it were to happen.

If the Disney endeavor was to happen right now, King's age wouldn't be a big problem. Yet, it doesn't seem like the live adaptation Frozen is anywhere near being made. Although Disney has announced that a live-action Frozen is happening, they have yet to reveal any information beyond that. In this way, the longer that Disney puts off Frozen, the less it is that King will portray Anna. Other opportunities may come up, and King may simply age out of the role. No matter what, the casting of Anna will be controversial for Disney lovers, so the choice has to be thoughtful.

Disney's Frozen Plans Make Joey King's Casting For Live-Action Anna Unlikely

Who Else Could Play Anna

Joey King as Tally in Uglies

After considering what is next for Disney, it seems unlikely that King will actually be cast as Anna. In of live-action adaptations, it looks like Disney is focused on making Moana, which puts Frozen on the back burner for the moment. Furthermore, when it comes to the Frozen franchise as a whole, it seems like Disney is more concerned with Frozen 3 than working on the live-action adaptation. In this way, the live-action Frozen probably won't happen for a few years at least, which may put King out of the running.

Frozen 3 is set to premiere on November 24, 2027.

So, assuming that King can't take the mantle, the search for live-action Anna continues. Countless young actresses have proven their acting chops who could take on the role of Anna. Some actresses who have been noted as good options include Sabrina Carpenter, Kiernan Shipka, Rowan Blanchard, Sadie Sink, and Isabela Merced. At this point, it seems like the cast of the live-action Frozen is a long way off, but Bell has certainly set the ball rolling.
