With a season 3 of iCarly up in the air at Paramount+ but not completely scrapped, fans are still able to look back and enjoy some of their favorite moments from season 1 and 2 of the reboot.
From the infamous return of Lewbert and the appearance of Josh Peck in season 2, fans were treated to some pretty iconic moments and quotes from the rebooted series. With many fans considering the reboot a better and much funnier version than the original, there have been a few quotes from each season to prove this sentiment.
Who’s Lactose Intolerant?
“My Body, My Choice.”
When Carly is still reeling from her breakup with Beau in season 1 episode 1 of the reboot, the last person she wants to speak to is her ex. When he calls, she states to Harper that she just can’t speak with him because her life is currently a mess, leading to Harper going into a pep talk rant about her dreams and goals after becoming poor.
After this rant, Harper states that she’s happy with her new job at the coffee shop because she gets all the half and half she wants. Because of this, Carly states that she’s lactose intolerant, leading to the quote above, with Harper hilariously acknowledging that it’s her body and her choice to drink dairy.
Spencer As A Lawyer Just Doesn't Sound Right
“You Want The Truth? You Can't Handle The Truth!”
Spencer never misses the chance to let everyone know that he attended law school … for a few days. Even so, he comes to the rescue when Carly receives a court order that Lewbert, the old doorman from their building, is suing her for $1 million. Before the trial begins, Carly attempts to reason with Lewbert and apologize, to which he refuses, and the trial proceeds.
The quote above hilariously comes from season 2 episode 2 when Spencer’s old nemesis Chuck Chambers returns and takes the stand in court. When he lies about Spencer being his tormentor, Spencer loses it and is subsequently tossed out of the courtroom while screaming that the court can’t handle the truth.
Nevel + Carly = Unrequited Love
“Come On, Carly. No More Cat And Mouse. It's Time To Let Me Catch You.”
Considered one of the funniest characters in the original iCarly, Nevel Papperman is a side character that many fans wanted back for the reboot. In his younger years, he was the flirtatious nemesis of Carly and her friends, never ceasing a moment to wreak havoc on the gang's lives. He's never shied away from his infatuation with Carly and things haven't changed in his adult years either.
When Carly is invited to Nevel’s wedding, she looks to prove that no woman would willingly marry Nevel without an ulterior motive. When Carly confronts Nevel about his relationship being fake, he retorts with this funny quote of acknowledgment that his love story with his fiance is fake, making it known that Carly should stop running from his love in one of the funniest moments of the first season.
Just Call Her Detective Millicent
“Where Were You Born? What's Your Credit Score? Why Aren’t You Wearing Socks? You’re Not Going On A Boat. Are You Going On A Boat?
A grown-up Millicent is a scary Millicent. When she ditches her young best friend to be best friends with Harper and fast track to adulthood, she becomes a pain for her new bestie with her overbearing nature. Things come to a head when she extensively questions the date of Harper’s, leading to him canceling.
The quote above is a result of Millicent’s line of questioning. She makes it known she’s Harper’s bestie and wants to know the guy's financial situation and credit score along with his outfit choice for the date. She’s not only adorable in this scene but also hilarious with the way she’s firm and determined in her line of questioning.
Mrs.Benson Loves Her Some Lewbert
“You Can Take As Much Of Me As You Want, You Greedy Bastard!”
Probably one of the weirdest couple pairings in a show, Mrs.Benson and Lewbert are two main characters in iCarly that are likable in their very own way. In the reboot, Mrs.Benson is still an overprotective mom and grandmother, and Lewbert is presented as a lawyer, however, when the two get together they resort back to their past selves and relationship.
When Mrs.Benson is called to the stand to testify in Lewbert’s lawsuit against Carly, things start hostile between the two characters but quickly and hilariously turn sexual. The quote above comes after Carly states Lewbert can’t sue for iCarly and Mrs.Benson states that he can have as much of her as he wants, leading to the two hilariously making out on the stand … again.
Millicent For Climate Change
“Sure. Put The Grownups In Charge Of Climate Change. So Far, So Good.”
Millicent is not your typical preteen and says what’s on her mind. She’s not afraid to tell the adults around her what she thinks of their lives and why their generation is not the best. Even so, she tries to be the change she wants to see and makes it her mission to be involved in what’s going on in the world.
The quote above occurs when a woman comes to Carly and the gang asking for signatures to help with climate change. When Millicent asks to sign the petition, the woman condescendingly states that it’s not for kids, with Millicent sarcastically responding that putting adults in charge of climate change hasn’t worked so far.
Girls Trip ... With Freddie
“Look At Us, Girls Trippin’, Champagne Sippin’, And Chocolate Drawer Dippin'”
Carly and Freddie have always had a spirited friendship that many fans have ired. They're able to joke and have fun with each other without tension. Freddie has always essentially been “one of the girls” and this has led to some funny moments in the iCarly reboot.
When Carly’s girls' trip plans with Harper and another friend fall through, it’s Freddie to the rescue. The amusing quote above is Freddie acknowledging how good the girls' trip is going with their free chocolate and champagne. Their friendship makes them one of the best platonic TV duos that fans of the original series still enjoy seeing years later.
A Sad Carly Is A Scary Carly
“I Just Want To Stay Here And Watch Every Episode Of Law & Order. The Murders Cheer Me Up.”
No breakup is easy, especially when you aren’t expecting the relationship to end. Viewers are introduced to Carly’s relationship with Beau in the first episode of the reboot with her excited over Beau possibly proposing they start a channel together like iCarly. However, things don’t go as planned when Beau breaks up with Carly instead and she’s left devastated.
Still reeling from her breakup, Carly is sad and depressed, washing away her sadness with episodes of Law & Order. The quote above is Carly hilariously acknowledging that watching Law & Order helps her feel better, especially the murders. Although Carly is sweet and bubbly, her getting over a breakup and finding comfort in murder is kind of morbid.
Sibling Fights Are Always Entertaining
“I Didn’t Mean To Offend You All. I Only Meant To Offend My Sister.”
Spencer Shay and Carly Shay have one of the best sibling relationships in a comedy tv show. They are always there for each other through the ups and downs and see each other through the rough patches that they may face. Even though they have a comedic and lovable relationship, they have had their fair share of sibling disagreements.
When Carly makes a disgusting face at one of Spencer’s inventions, her reaction goes viral and this causes problems between her and her brother. With the viral meme causing problems for Spencer’s art, he decides to use his art show to offend the internet and this leads to influencers being offended. The quote above is a result of Spencer trying to calm a hostile crowd by stating that he was not intending to offend anyone but Carly.
