Futurama's Bender and Adventure Time's Jake are mashed together in a new piece of John DiMaggio character crossover art. Futurama precedes Adventure Time by about 11 years, premiering in 1999 and following pizza delivery driver Philip J. Fry (Billy West), with DiMaggio's Bender, a foul-mouthed robot, playing an important role in just about every episode. Adventure Time, on the other hand, didn't premiere until 2010, with that animated sitcom following a 12-year-old boy as he goes on various adventures with his wise dog, Jake.
@bornreadydesigns on Instagram now combines Bender from Futurama and Jake from Adventure Time into one character. The art features key aspects of Bender, including the metallic coating and limb design, with Jake's dog-like face. The caption for the image jokes that this new hybrid character could be called either "Bender the dog" or "Jake the robot." Check out the art below:
What The Futurama/ Adventure Time Art Means For John DiMaggio
The Voice Actor Stars In Two Beloved Shows
It's generally harder for voice performers to become as well known as those who do work in front of the camera, just because audiences don't ever see their faces. DiMaggio, however, has become one of the foremost performers in the voice acting space, especially when it comes to comedy.

With Futurama season 13 on the horizon, the show remains as popular as ever. It's also generally been critically well-received, as with Adventure Time. As seen in the chart above, both of these animated sitcoms struck a chord with audiences, and the voice performances were and are key reasons for this. DiMaggio's Bender and Jake are crucial characters in their respective shows, and the continued love for Futurama and Adventure Time speaks to his power as a voice performer.
DiMaggio has voice roles in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023), The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023), and The Loud House, and has appeared on screen in titles like Perry Mason and Frasier.
Our Take On The Futurama & Adventure Time Crossover Art
Could A Crossover Ever Actually Happen?
It seems unlikely that a crossover as it appears in the image will ever actually make its way onto the screen. Futurama now airs its new episodes on Hulu and Aventure Time was a Cartoon Network series. The rights issues would likely prevent any kind of official crossover.

Adventure Time: The 15 Best Lemongrab Episodes Ranked
One of the funniest, and creepiest, characters in Adventure Time is the Earl of Lemongrab, a shrieking, furious, and hungry lemonheaded tyrant.
Even though the two properties may not intersect, both are set to return. In addition to two new seasons of Futurama, it has been confirmed that Cartoon Network Studios is bringing back Adventure Time in the form of a new movie and two new TV shows. It's not clear if DiMaggio will reprise his role as Jake, but it's certainly hard to imagine either show going on without him.
