MCU's only 2024 movie, Gambit getting a solo film in the MCU at this point seems unlikely.
While a Gambit solo movie might not be in the MCU's plans, Tatum's fan-favorite turn could very well lead to him returning to deleted Deadpool & Wolverine scene teased Gambit's return, and Tatum's possible future as the character could serve to finally make a mistake from the comics right.
Channing Tatum’s Gambit Could Be Part Of The MCU’s X-Force
The Team Previously Made A Movie Debut
Instead of getting his own solo movie, Tatum's Gambit could be used to flesh out the mutant side of the MCU. While the character is commonly associated with the X-Men, Tatum's version of Remy LeBeau would work perfectly as a member of the MCU's X-Force. The team has already appeared in live-action before, with 2018's Deadpool 2 featuring an intriguing roster for the X-Force. While many Deadpool franchise characters returned for the MCU's Deadpool & Wolverine, two stars were notably absent.
Netflix Daredevil creator Drew Goddard was working on an X-Force movie before the Fox/Disney merger.
Josh Brolin's Cable and Zazie Beetz's Domino were nowhere to be seen in the third Deadpool movie. The fan-favorite characters could end up making a return in a future project, perhaps bringing back the planned X-Force movie that would have starred the duo but was ultimately scrapped when Disney bought Fox. Tatum's requested Gambit return could come in the form of an X-Force outing, allowing Marvel Studios to develop the MCU's mutant corner beyond just the X-Men and bringing back other fan-favorite characters.
Gambit Is Not An X-Force Member In The Comics & The MCU Should Change That
Remy LeBeau Is A Natural Fit For The Mutant Team
The X-Force is usually a more morally gray and violent team than the X-Men in the comics. That makes Gambit, who grew up on the streets of New Orleans as part of the Thieves Guild, a natural fit for the team. However, Gambit has never been an X-Force member. The MCU could rectify that mistake, with the comics perhaps later following suit if the move proves successful. Tatum's Gambit could be one of the X-Force's leaders and part of an R-rated project — the same rating as Deadpool & Wolverine — allowing him to thrive in the MCU for years to come.

X-Force is an unmade superhero movie in 20th Century Fox's X-Men universe. Ryan Reynolds was set to appear as the merc with a mouth, Deadpool, but the movie was canceled in 2019 after Disney bought out 20th Century Fox. Plans for X-Force were scrapped, but Marvel Studios would go on to make Deadpool 3 set in the MCU.
