The biggest awards show for video games, The Game Awards 2024, has just wrapped up, giving many the honor of being recognized for their achievements in the industry over the past twelve months. This year, TGA 2024 gave out 30 awards over a large variety of categories, including Player's Choice and the biggest honor of Game of the Year. Geoff Keighley's annual celebration of gaming is one of the biggest events of the year in the gaming community, with several world premiere announcements and trailers intermixed during the award ceremony.

2024 has been another very good year for video games, with many incredible releases ranging across all genres. Even the nominees for the highly coveted Game of the Year award seem to cover a vast range from Astro Bot's family-friendly platforming, Balatro's roguelike game of cards, and even expansions and remakes such as Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Black Myth: Wukong and Metaphor: ReFantazio are both strong contenders for GOTY as well. Game of the Year isn't the only award today, with several incredible games, developers, and more being recognized for their work.
