In the world of Game of Thrones, where someone is born can determine their entire destiny, and shockingly being highborn or lowborn, or being born into the right or wrong house, can mean more about a character than literally everything else.

And, as is evident throughout the course of the series, many of these characters are born into houses that they don't really fit into or belong in. But where is it that these misfits belong, and which house would they have flourished in, in addition to helping advance that house?

Tommen Baratheon - House Arryn

Although Myrcella seemed to be a fine young lady as well, it's hard not to notice how much Tommen Baratheon doesn't fit in with the rest of the Lannisters.

He's not clever nor cruel enough to be one of the lions, and his soft hearted nature seems to be better suited to Jon Arryn and House Arryn in general. And his sweet demeanor is one that even someone as crazy as Lysa couldn't quash.

Samwell Tarly - House Tully

Sam at the Citadel in Game of Thrones

Lysa seems to be an aberration from the Tully standard, and most of the other Tully family seem like the ive and kind family that Sam deserved.

The Tullys were never going to be the strongest or most powerful house, but they clearly followed their house words of "family, duty, honor". They likely would have seen that Sam had a lot to offer, despite not being the warrior of their dreams, and both the house and Sam himself could have flourished because of his presence.

Theon Greyjoy - House Baratheon

No matter how desperately he tried, Theon Greyjoy couldn't get the Starks or the Greyjoys to fully accept them as one of their own. However, it seems like he actually would have fit right in with House Baratheon.

Robert Baratheon told Ned that he never loved any of his brothers, but if he had a brother who was as aggressive and womanizing as Theon that may not have been the case. And the love of a family member would have made Theon a better man too.

Sansa Stark - House Tyrell

Margaery Tyrell Sansa Stark

Sansa Stark is the queen in the North now, and she really saved her family and house from the brink of extinction. But had she been raised among women like Olenna and Margaery Tyrell, she would have been killing it in the game of thrones long before she had to.

Sansa's political education was trial by fire, but had she been born into the Tyrells she may have avoided a lot of personal pain and saved House Tyrell.

Cersei Lannister - House Bolton

There are very few houses in Westeros that are insane enough to accommodate someone like Cersei, but House Bolton certainly is one of them. Cersei's thirst for power was overwhelming, just like those in House Bolton, and her ruthlessness was just as astonishing as Roose or Ramsay's.

Not to mention, Cersei actually enjoys hurting and torturing people. Honestly, Ramsay seems like a better fitting brother/lover to her than Jaime ever was.

Tyrion Lannister - House Stark

Tyrion grew up knowing that he was the shame of House Lannister, and that knowledge informed everything that he became. Yes, he was a dwarf, but he was also brilliant.

Had he been born into House Stark he would have had a family who loved and accepted him, and House Stark would have actually had someone who knew how to politically maneuver through the Westeros landscape.

Arya Stark - House Martell

Arya Stark Game of Thrones

Let's be real. Arya Stark is everything that the Sand Snakes wish that they were. The Martells are undoubtedly clever and somewhat savvy political players, but when it comes down to it, revenge trumps all.

Someone like Arya could have learned how to aggressively play the political game through the Martells, but she also would have been among kindred spirits who were willing to get messy and exact their personal brand of vengeance.

Joffrey Baratheon - House Targaryen

Joffrey Baratheon

Honestly, thank god Joffrey never got his hands on any dragons, but oh boy does he seem like a perfect fit for the House of the Dragon.

He's spoiled, entitled, elitist, and acts before he thinks. He shares a lot in common with the crazier and more malicious of House Targaryen, and on paper it's genuinely hard to tell the difference between Joffrey and Viserys Targaryen.

Daenerys Targaryen - House Baratheon

Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen

It's ironic that Daenerys spent so much of her time and energy hating the usurper Robert Baratheon, because she shares a lot of similarities with him.

Just like Robert, she is someone who loves to conquer and who hates to rule. And just like Robert, she is not someone who forgets a slight, and she is willing to destroy the world for the sake of righting the wrongs that have been done against her.

Bran Stark - House Targaryen

House Targaryen is a house that is full of magical weirdos, so Bran would fit right in. And of course, Bran is king now, so it would have been far more convenient had he just been born a Targaryen.

And given that Bran didn't intervene when Daenerys burned down half of Westeros, it seems safe to assume that he's not too bothered by mass destruction either, just like a standard Targaryen.
