Steam Early Access is now available for Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, the action-adventure RPG from Netmarble. The game tells an original story set in Westeros, inspired by the HBO Original drama series Game of Thrones. Players will create their own protagonist and forge a unique path for them, encountering familiar characters like Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister, and many more on their journey.

Set for release on Steam, PC Launcher, iOS, and Android, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad will launch in 2025, but you can now check out the game in Early Access on Steam by purchasing the Founder’s Pack. Doing so also provides a variety of in-game perks, along with advanced access to the game.

What To Expect From Game Of Thrones: Kingsroad

As a story-driven RPG depicting the lived-in world of Westeros, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad allows players to explore a large-scale open world, from the magnificence of King’s Landing to the bitter cold of The Wall and Castle Black.

Set during Season 4 of Game of Thrones, the game’s original story follows the player’s custom character, an illegitimate child from the relatively small House Tyre. As the only remaining heir of the house, the protagonist must gather allies for the political struggles ahead, all while assisting the Night’s Watch in the struggle against the menacing White Walkers.

Players must choose between three classes in Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, all inspired by archetypes from the show: Knight, Sellsword, and Assassin. Each class comes with its own strengths and weaknesses in gameplay, with combat mechanics including parrying, dodging, and chain attacks. Depending on which class they choose, players can live out their fantasies of being a slick killer like Arya Stark, a mighty warrior like Jamie Lannister, or a brute like Tormund.

Along the journey, expect to encounter dangerous creatures from Game of Thrones lore, like Ice Spiders and Stormhorn Unicorns. Friends can even team up in co-op play in the Altar of Memories mode, which pits players against these mythical creatures to earn rewards for their characters’ progression. With vast lands to traverse and mountains of lore to uncover, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad should add to fans’ love of this world.
