Game of Thrones will always be a riveting show to binge, and it's made all the more interesting by the different and intriguing houses made up of totally unique characters and family dynamics. House Lannister is often known to be bursting with villains, but it also certainly has some fan favorites.

While most people are terrified of Cersei and think of Tyrion as one of their favorites, there are some fans out there that might just have some pretty unpopular opinions about House Lannister compared to the majority of the fandom, and unsurprisingly fans are still debating the flaws and merits of the Lannisters on Reddit.

The Lannisters Are The Good Guys

In a world with Starks and Lannisters, the latter is almost always known to be the villains shaking up a world that could be virtuous. Of course, not everyone feels this way, and this Reddit is here to say that the Lannisters were actually the good guys.

There's certainly some Lannisters with heroic traits, but it's pretty hard not to find Cersei and Tywin villainous. They're tyrants that only want what is best for them and their own family. Calling them the 'good guys' might be a bit of a stretch.

Tyrion & Sansa

This isn't the most unpopular opinion out there, but it definitely isn't mainstream. Tyrion and Sansa are forced to wed, and Tyrion is nothing but respectful and kind. However, that doesn't mean fans want them to end up together. He is still much older, and they are very different.

Yet there is one small part of Reddit that thinks these two would reign in a powerful and honorable way together, and would actually be a great couple. They're in the minority, but it's still worthy of a Reddit thread.

Tommen Isn't That Good-Hearted

While most fans are on the same page about Tommen probably not being the best king, most agree that he is at least the purest, sweetest, and most innocent of them all. He isn't a terrible king, because at least his heart is in the right place.

This Reddit definitely disagrees, though, and thinks that Tommen is just all-around terrible. In their eyes, he's as useless as he is secretly mean and isn't actually good-hearted at all. It's a hard thing to argue, but this did.

Jaime Was Never Redeemable

One of the most interesting character arcs throughout the series was Jaime Lannister's, and most viewers actually pinned him as one of their favorites. However, this Reddit thinks that this entire story is totally overrated and that Jaime is still a terrible person.

After finally starting to redeem himself, he appears to force himself onto Cersei, and it really doesn't get worse than that. Despite some love for his growth, there are certainly a small group of fans that think Jaime was never likable or remotely redeemable.

Tywin Is The Second Favorite

According to this small subreddit, viewers of the show chose Tywin Lannister as their second favorite, with Tyrion coming in first. While the love for Tyrion is no surprise, it might be a bit shocking to most that Tywin is more loved than Jaime, Tommen, or even Cersei.

In fact, most viewers of the show might think of Tywin as some guy who Tyrion killed with a crossbow. He is a strong character, but most of this fandom would certainly say it's a stretch to label him as one of the favorites and one of the most likable.

Joffrey Made The Show Better

There was probably no death more satisfying than Joffrey's, or at least that is definitely what the majority of fans would say. He was a twisted and cruel villain, and fans were happy to see him go. That is, except for this one Reddit .

They're confident in shouting from the rooftops that Joffrey made the show better, and that he is one villain that is actually missed. They were a bit upset that he was cut from the show. This is one opinion that's certainly a bit risky to hold.

Jaime Doesn't Deserve Brienne

While this could definitely be true, most fans were certainly on board with the ongoing relationship between Brienne and Jaime. They both grew so much together, and they experienced a lot and both had something that only the other could understand.

However, not everyone on Reddit agrees. This thread is about how Jaime ending up with Brienne would be extremely unsatisfying because Brienne is as honorable as they come and Jaime is a snake.

Tyrion Ended Up The Villain

Tyrion just got worse and worse, was actually the villain, that everything he did was selfish or manipulative.

While most would certainly and inarguably place Tyrion in the group of heroes, not every fan can agree. At any rate, fans can debate this hot topic, because this is one unpopular opinion that's bound to fire up a lot of die-hard fans.

Cersei & Jaime's Death Was Perfect

one of the biggest disappointments for most was Jaime returning to Cersei.

Viewers were devastated that his character arc just crumbled to nothing, quite literally. However, this brave is out to say that Cersei and Jaime's death was beautiful and perfect, and it was meaningful that they died together. Only a few might agree.

Cersei Didn't Deserve Worse

There a lot of split opinions around Cersei in general, and this one more specifically discusses Cersei's death. Unsurprisingly, given that she was such a consistent villain for so long, many felt that she got a bit of an easy out.

However, the unpopular opinion here is that she actually did have a fitting ending. Most actually wish Cersei went head-to-head with Daenerys or had her life ended by Jaime himself. However, this is adamant that Cersei, in fact, didn't deserve anything worse than she got.
