How long does it take to play through Gears Of War blended Resident Evil 4 with cult title Kill Switch, which was an early pioneer of cover-based action games. Gamers loved Gears' unique art style and shooting mechanics, in addition to its surprisingly likable heroes, including Marcus Fenix, Anya Stroud and Dom.
Gears Of War soon became a huge franchise, with the second and third games fleshing out the story and characters even more. While Gears Of War 3 marked the end of one arc, the series was too successful to stop completely. The most recent entry was 2020's Gears Tactics, a strategy title that also acts as a prequel to the other games. Despite the change in formula it's received a positive response from fans and critics alike.
While Gears Of War 4 was a solid entry, many considered 2019's Gears 5 to be something of a return to form for the franchise. It's crunchy combat and great story made for an involving experience, and its ending set the stage perfectly for Gears Of War 6. According to How Long To Beat, Gears 5's story should take players around eleven hours to play through, but a more thorough run will take upwards of eighteen hours.
That's a decent length for a campaign and it helps that Gears 5 maintains a good pace throughout. The game ends with Kait forced to pick the life of one character over the other, but no matter who players choose to save, it results in a shocking death. It will be interesting to see which demise Gears Of War 6 makes the canon choice, however.
While it has yet to happen, a Gears Of War movie has been in development for well over a decade. Len Wiseman was once attached to direct the project while Dave Bautista is very interested in stepping into Marcus Fenix's boots, but it seems the high price tag of bringing the Gears Of War universe to life has caused studios to be cautious. The history of video game to movie adaptations is also a famously tangled one, but when titles like Gears 5 already feature great stories, there's really no rush for a watered-down film version to hit theatres either.
