After the hype surrounding newest 5-star Sumeru characters, Nilou and Cyno, HoYoverse announced two characters that will be ing the roster in patch 3.2. One of these characters has been expected to the roster since the beginning of Sumeru, while the other seems to be completely new and hasn't been featured in the story thus far.
One of the main strengths of Genshin Impact lies in its roster, and a player's ability to collect their favorite characters. The more Genshin Impact expands this roster of unique characters, the more players will regain interest in the game following lull periods between content updates. Collecting characters involves a gacha system as well, so announcing banners early is perfect for players who need to grind for Wishes, giving them a head start, as well as bringing them back to the game in general.
On the official Teyvat's Dendro Archon, Nahida, will be ing the cast in Version 3.2. Many know of Nahida already as an important character to Sumeru's story thus far and are excited for the opportunity to play as her. Alongside Nahida, Layla, a student from Sumeru, will also be ing the cast.
Nahida, Physic of Purity
For those who have played through Genshin Impact's Version 3.0 story, Nahida's eventual arrival as a playable character is no surprise. This 5-star Dendro Archon s the game alongside the likes of other Archons Zhongli, Venti and Raiden Shogun. Despite being worshiped in the land of Sumeru, she has been forgotten by many. Her involvement in the Archon quest saves the lives of the Traveler and the citizens of Sumeru, however, so she's still active as a protector of her people. Many believe she will be a Catalyst wielder, becoming the first Dendro character to use that style of weapon. For those attempting to collect each of the Archons - a popular collection style among Genshin Impact players - Nahida is definitely a character to look out for in the future.
Layla, Fantastical Evening Star
Layla is the newest 4-star Cryo Sword coming to Genshin Impact in 3.2. Described as half-awake, half-asleep, and always incredulous, many are already falling in love with the characters sleepy demeanor. Besides ing Candace, Dori and Collei as Sumeru's 4-stars, her reveal also lists the term Luscinia, a species of bird that contains the Nightingale. This has lead many to believe that she will feature some sort of bird, or night-based Cryo attacks. While she hasn't had an impact on the story thus far, with the many knowledge-hungry areas of Sumeru, it's easy to see how a student will come into play at some point in the narrative.
Layla and Nahida were announced days before the release of Genshin Impact 3.1, showing that the character content cycle remains a strong selling point for the game. While some are excited to start rolling for Cyno or Nilou, many are starting to save for Nahida and Layla already instead. When Genshin Impact 3.2 starts to become a closer reality in the near future, hopefully Nahida and Layla's abilities will be as interesting as their designs - but for now, players will be micro-managing their Primogems in an attempt to get the characters they want, just the same as they always do.
