Leaked footage from Mavuika in Genshin Impact.

This article may contain spoilers for events that take place in the Archon Quests of Version 5.3.

The patch is expected to be a big one, not only concluding the Natlan story arc and adding four new playable characters but also hosting the annual Lantern Rite Festival event in 2025. With what is expected to be an epic conclusion to this year of content’s main region and what is considered the largest annual event, players should have their hands full of activities. The beta tests for the patch started nearly a month ago and with them, several leaks about the content have emerged, such as an update to character builds in Genshin Impact 5.3.

All The Playable Natlan Characters Appear

Despite the fact that the majority of the new playable content has already been leaked, the most recent leaks are revealing several key points of the narrative, which had been mostly obscure up until now. New leaked footage of the Archon Quests in Version 5.3 has been shared in a post on Natlan in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 5.4 Leaks Hint At Ominous Buff To The Spiral Abyss

The Spiral Abyss may see a buff to player damage in Genshin Impact 5.4, but that may come accompanied by a troubling update to enemies.

The video shows the female Traveler, Lumine, standing in Natlan, with several important Natlan characters all around her. It’s possible to see Xilonen, Ororon, Citlali, Chasca, Mualani, Kachina, Kinich, Iansan, and Mavuika. The video does not show the interactions with each of these characters, but it’s likely that all of these units will be available for a conversation with the Traveler following the resolution of the main conflict in Natlan. There are also other standard NPCs in the area, including a Fatui Agent, which may reveal more details about a notable absence: Capitano in Genshin Impact.

Capitano Is Missing From The Leaked Genshin Impact 5.3 Footage

Rumors Indicate That The Fatui Harbinger Will Not Survive

Although he was initially portrayed as an antagonist in Natlan, Capitano has played an important role in Natlan’s story. He even became an ally to the Traveler and the other Natlan characters as he fought alongside them against the Abyss, ordering his Fatui troops to assist in the endeavor as well. Given his participation in the Natlan story arc so far, Capitano’s absence from the final encounter is questionable, but it may hint at another strong rumor: Capitano’s death in Genshin Impact 5.3. His absence may be an indication that he does not survive the events in the patch.

Genshin Impact: Citlali Ascension & Talent Materials

Farming Citlali’s materials in Genshin Impact is the first step to unlocking her full potential as a Cryo unit for your team comps.

He could have left the Nation of Pyro shortly after the resolution of the conflict, leaving behind a Fatui agent to speak on his behalf, but the speculation that he will ultimately perish is very strong. The first hints of this come from the game. Capitano has revealed he is a survivor from Khaenri’ah but unlike Dainsleif, the tricks to maintain his longevity are not too strong. As such, he has weakened in power and his body has started to corrode. Capitano has indicated that he is a walking corpse, even if still capable of challenging Mavuika in Genshin Impact.

Moreover, there have been several discussions about Capitano’s possible demise. A leaked audio file for Version 5.3 traces a connection between “Capitano” and “tombstone” in a way that his death is intended to occur in the patch. This stacks with the rumors that the First of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers will not be playable in the near future – and that could very well be because the character himself will not be alive to, technically, become a member of the Traveler’s troupe.

The leaks say there will be no new Fatui Harbinger character in Genshin Impact until at least Version 6.0 and that, if there is, it will be Columbina instead of Capitano.

In addition to this, another leak has hinted at the possibility of Capitano’s demise. There has been a leak about how players unlock the Pyro Traveler in Version 5.3, and it shows the main character speaking to Mavuika in an area in Ochkanatlan that is already available to visit as of Version 5.2. The big issue with the leak is that, unlike the current status of the area, the leaked image shows it is encased in ice, and the speculation is that Capitano sealed a gate to the Abyss and that he may have died in the process.

The curious factor about this is that the leaked audio file is allegedly called “Cinder City Capitano Tombstone” and Cinder City is the name for Ochkanatlan. The ice wall seen in the leak is located on what seems like one of the most important points in Ochkanatlan, even if it currently does not have a function. All signs point toward Ochkanatlan being Capitano’s final place of resistance, where he may sacrifice himself to impede the Abyss from entering Natlan. There are several theories that he may be reborn in Natlan later on, but all of that is speculation.

Genshin Impact 5.3 Leaks: Mavuika's Biggest Flaw Has Finally Been Corrected, Making The Release Of The Pyro Archon More Promising Than Ever

The biggest flaw in Mavuika’s leaked gameplay kit for Genshin Impact 5.3 has allegedly been corrected, making her much more valuable in team comps.

The speculation arises from the idea that Capitano may have forged an Ancient Name for himself in Natlan, thanks to his deeds to protect the Nation of Pyro. Even if he dies, the theories mention that Capitano could return through an Ode of Ressurection in the future, but that remains to be seen. All these leaks should always be taken with caution, but there stacks of leaks on top of plausible theories make it hard to believe that Capitano will make it out alive from the conclusion of the Natlan story arc in Genshin Impact 5.3.
