A new free event weapon from characters in Genshin Impact 5.3, including Mavuika and Lan Yan.
Three new characters are directly linked to Natlan, but Lan Yan is from Liyue. This is because the current update, in addition to its focus on Natlan, is also hosting the annual Lantern Rite Festival. This is one of the game’s largest recurring events and with it happening at the same time a regional story arc comes to a halt, the patch is going to be massive. However, some attention is already shifting toward the next update. There’s already been a leak about an Inazuma character in Genshin Impact 5.4, and now there are mentions of a free weapon.
New Free Weapon Has Been Leaked For Genshin Impact 5.4
The 4-Star Polearm Brief Pavilion Chatter Is Rumored For The Update
A new weapon from Version 5.4 has leaked. According to Honey Hunter World, Brief Pavilion Chatter is a new 4-star polearm. As seen in a leak by HomDGCat, which was shared in a “Reliable” post on Reddit, Brief Pavilion Chatter is a new event weapon in Genshin Impact 5.4. The weapon allegedly has a mid-range base ATK stat (565 at level 90) and a useful Energy Recharge sub-stat (30.63% at level 90). Its leaked weapon skill says that the increases their ATK and Movement SPD by 20% and 10%, respectively, for 10 seconds after using an Elemental Skill.

Genshin Impact Character Leaks Show Skirk May Save The Meta (But Don't Believe Them Just Yet)
Following her teaser as a playable character in Genshin Impact, new information about Skirk has emerged and it seems promising for the game’s meta.
Because this is rumored to be an event weapon, however, it’s likely that its Refinement materials will also be made promptly available through the event. As such, its weapon skill should be easily achievable for players. According to Honey Hunter World, Brief Pavilion Chatter increases their ATK and Movement SPD by 40% and 10%, respectively, for 10 seconds after using an Elemental Skill at R5 (Refinement level 5). This means that players will be able to deal more damage with the rumored 4-star polearm if they can level Brief Pavilion Chatter to R5 in Genshin Impact 5.4.
Genshin Impact 5.4's Leaked Weapon Strangely Caps One Stat
Movement SPD Doesn’t Seem To Increase With Refinement Levels
Even though the ATK buff via the leaked weapon’s skill is helpful for certain characters, there is a strange cap applied to the Movement SPD bonus gained from it. Even through Refinement levels, it seems like the Movement SPD that the equipping character can gain does not grow like the ATK buff. The 10% Movement SPD buff allegedly gained after using an Elemental Skill remains the same across all five of the leaked weapon’s levels. It could grow a meager 2.5% with each Refinement level, but it seems like Brief Pavilion Chatter is capped in Genshin Impact 5.4.

Why Genshin Impact Confirming Long-Forgotten Leaked Characters Like Dahlia & Prison Girl Is A Big Deal
HoYoverse has teased seven new characters for Genshin Impact. Among them are several previously leaked characters like Dahlia and prison girl.
In other moments of the game’s history, such a cap would not be so questionable, as Movement SPD has always been hard to increase through normal means – in fact, there are certain characters that are often pulled for how much they can contribute to movement. While Yelan excels as a sub-DPS, she is also great for running quickly across maps. The big issue with the alleged cap on the leaked free weapon from Version 5.4 is that it is happening after the release of Natlan characters, such as Mualani, Chasca, and Mavuika in Genshin Impact.
All of the Natlan characters so far have had some sort of movement mechanic attributed to them, which completely revolutionized the game. Mualani’s surfboard drastically increases her Movement SPD on the field. The same can be said about Chasca’s flight mechanic and Mavuika’s all-terrain Flamestrider. Even though their usage is limited by the consumption of Nightsoul Points and Phlogiston (exclusively in Natlan), these allow players to move around quickly in a way that was never possible before. With several Natlan characters being capable of enhancing exploration, the rumored cap on the leaked Genshin Impact 5.4 seems a bit silly.
The stats and even the cap itself can be changed during the Version 5.4 beta tests and before the weapon’s final release in the next patch.
Capping a character’s ability to move faster across the field while equipping Brief Pavilion Chatter when there are several other units that can move just as fast or even faster than that sounds unreasonable. After the introduction of Natlan characters, there is no reason for HoYoverse to cap the enhancement of Movement SPD in the way that it is presented with the leaked event weapon for Version 5.4. If the buff to Movement SPD at R5 were 20%, it would still be well within control, especially considering it only lasts for 10 seconds in Genshin Impact.
Who The Leaked Genshin Impact 5.4 Event Weapon Could Be Good For
Xiangling Would Be The Most Benefited From Brief Pavilion Chatter
Overall, from what can be gathered so far, Brief Pavilion Chatter is a very standard polearm that does not stand out much. Its rumored cap on Movement SPD really undercuts its usefulness, but even its base ATK stat, its Energy Recharge sub-stat, and ATK buff are somewhat dispensable in light of other better weapons. Even so, it shouldn’t be completely discarded, especially for F2P players. Ideally, Brief Pavilion Chatter is a weapon to equip on 4-star polearm characters in Genshin Impact who are focused on dealing damage and have a higher reliance on their Elemental Bursts.

What To Expect From Genshin Impact In 2025
This new year of content for Genshin Impact will revisit existing Nations of Teyvat and then likely take players to a new region with new characters.
The leaked event weapon could serve a character like Xiangling, for example. The Energy Recharge sub-stat could serve Candace immensely, but the ATK buff would be somewhat wasted on her. On a sub-DPS build, Brief Pavilion Chatter could also work with Chevreuse, though the 4-star Pyro character is much more suitable as a . The leaked weapon could work with Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact, but even in the 4-star F2P realm, there are better options for her, such as The Catch.
In general, Brief Pavilion Chatter seems like a dispensable weapon across all fronts. While its leaked design, which resembles a torch, is truly unique, its leaked gameplay value is suboptimal compared to other polearms in the game. There is still a chance the weapon will undergo changes during the beta tests, so its stats and effects could be improved. However, players should prepare themselves for an unflattering new 4-star event weapon in Genshin Impact 5.4, which may just not be worth the investment.
