All the new details about Skirk’s gameplay kit in Genshin Impact, something that has only now been confirmed by the developer during the special livestream event.

HoYoverse has also confirmed another playable character for the patch, Dahlia, who had been introduced as an NPC during the Archon Quest added in Version 5.6. Aside from new characters, Version 5.7 should also stand out thanks to the new story missions, which will put the Traveler in with characters such as Skirk, Dainsleif, and possibly even their sibling. All of this has been presented during the Genshin Impact 5.7 livestream, confirming previous leaks and speculation about the content of the update.

Genshin Impact 5.7 - Release Date

The Update Should Arrive On Schedule

Genshin Impact 5.7's Key Art features Dainsleif, Aether, and Lumine.

The special livestream was broadcast on the official Genshin Impact channel on YouTube. During the presentation, HoYoverse confirmed that the Version 5.7 update will be released on June 18. This indicates that the game is on schedule and has not sustained any notable delays that would affect its regular release calendar. Normally, updates are released every six weeks on Wednesdays, so the June 18 date for Version 5.7 confirms that Genshin Impact is on track. It’s worth noting that, because of time zones, the Version 5.7 update will likely become available for U.S. players on June 17, at night.

I Didn't Expect To See Genshin Impact 5.7's Big Villain So Soon, But This Leak Proved Me Wrong

New Genshin Impact 5.7 leaks have emerged, hinting at the possible appearance of the Heavenly Principles, expected to be the game’s big villain.

With the official release date for Version 5.7 already set, it’s highly unlikely that the patch will be postponed. While it’s been years since the game has seen a delayed patch, HoYoverse usually tends to delay the livestream when an update’s contents need to be pushed back. Because the livestream has already happened and a release date is determined, it’s safe to believe that Version 5.7 will not be delayed during the two weeks leading up to its release. In addition to the release date, the special livestream also presented the content that players can expect from Genshin Impact 5.7.

Genshin Impact 5.7 - New Characters & Banners

Skirk & Dahlia Are Being Released In Phase 1

As was previously mentioned, there are two new characters arriving in Version 5.7: Skirk and Dahlia. As had already been leaked and now confirmed by the livestream, Skirk is a 5-star character who wields a sword in combat and deals Cryo DMG, though she does not hold a Cryo Vision. Skirk’s role in team comps is to operate as the main DPS, responsible for the majority of the party’s damage output. Skirk’s Skill has two forms, one of which puts her in an enhanced movement state. The other sets her in the Seven-Phase Flash mode.

Even though they had already leaked, Skirk’s materials in Genshin Impact have been confirmed, allowing players to pre-farm them adequately in preparation for her release.

The Seven-Phase Flash mode imbues her Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks with Cryo DMG that can’t be overridden. She also gains increased Interruption RES, and her attack AoE is buffed. In this mode, Skirk consumes a resource called Serpent’s Subtlety, which replaces the traditional Energy system. When Cryo-related reactions are triggered on the field, she creates Void Rifts. By using her Charged Attack or the special version of her Burst, Skirk can absorb these Rifts. After using the special version of her Burst, Skirk’s Normal Attack DMG is increased based on the number of absorbed Rifts.

It’s worth noting that Skirk’s enhanced movement state, enabled by holding her Skill, also allows her to absorb Rifts. With enough Serpent’s Subtlety, Skirk can unleash her Burst, which deals AoE Cryo DMG. Skirk’s performance can be enhanced with the proper team, too. When Hydro and Cryo allies deal Elemental DMG, Skirk’s Normal Attack DMG in the Seven-Phase Flash state and her Elemental Burst DMG are increased. Furthermore, if the team is comprised of Hydro and Cryo characters exclusively, all party ’ Skill level is increased by 1. This confirms the leaks about Skirk’s reliance on Freeze in Genshin Impact.

Dahlia, on the other hand, is a 4-star Hydro character who wields a sword. With his Elemental Skill, Dahlia can create a Hydro-based platform – when stepping on it, allies are lifted, while enemies take damage from an explosion. Dahlia’s main role, however, is providing shields for his team with his Elemental Burst. After his Burst, Dahlia can gain Benison stacks by hitting opponents with Normal Attacks or triggering Freeze reactions. Benison stacks can help replenish his shield once it is broken or expires. Dahlia’s kit in Genshin Impact makes him somewhat tailored for Skirk.

Dahlia can also increase his allies’ ATK SPD.

The Version 5.7 leaked banners had already predicted the information, but the livestream has confirmed that Phase 1 will feature Skirk and Shenhe, while Phase 2 banners will be composed of Mavuika and Emilie. Dahlia will be released in Phase 1 banners with an increased drop rate during the period. Phase 1 will also feature the debut of Skirk’s signature weapon in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 5.7 - New Story Updates, Events, & More

Players Will Team Up With Dainsleif In Combat

Genshin Impact bosses are assembled in Stygian Onslaught.

The livestream also revealed the new story content that will be added in the patch. Version 5.7 will feature a new Archon Quest, which will see the Traveler exploring Natlan alongside Dainsleif after hearing rumors about the Traveler’s sibling having visited the Nation of Pyro. The story will revolve around the Abyssal incursion on Natlan and the completion of the Loom of Fate and, possibly, uncovering more details about it. Additionally, the update will bring a new Character Story Quest focused on Skirk.

There will also be events to fill out the six-week period, such as the Battle of Imagined Arrays, which will offer players a free character giveaway in Genshin Impact 5.7. The update will also host the Fearsome Ferocious Firepower and the Reminiscent Regimen: Frenzy events, as well as the introduction of the new permanent challenge event called Stygian Onslaught. This will be a combat-focused event that puts players against bosses, allowing players to farm Artifacts and Artifact customization items. The Traveler’s Tales: Gilded Chapter is also making a comeback with Thoma, Neuvillette, and Dori.

Overflowing Abundance also returns with the patch. In addition to that, players will also experience several system optimization updates, including improvements to quest management, the map interface, and the Spiral Abyss. There is a lot to go through in Version 5.7, as the game gets ready for the release of Nod-Krai in Genshin Impact 6.0 later this year – something that was also teased during the livestream.
