The one exception to this rule is the Traveler, whose birth date is determined by the player upon creating an . For logging in on a playable character's birthday, Genshin Impact players will receive Birthday Mail from the character celebrating their birthday. Birthday Mail always includes the character's Special Dish, which can otherwise only be obtained if the player owns the character in question. In addition to the character's Special Dish, Birthday Mail often includes gifts from the character's home region such as fruit or flora unique to the region the character hails from.
To collect Birthday Mail for a character in Genshin Impact, players must on the exact date of the character's birthday in order to collect the rewards. Unfortunately, if a player logs in the following day, the Birthday Mail will no longer be available. Because of this, players should make sure they collect the Birthday Mail before the clock hits midnight. This will guarantee they can collect the reward before time expires. Once a player has received Birthday Mail from a character in Genshin Impact, the rewards will be sent to the player's Gift Mail Box.
The three Genshin Impact characters celebrating their birthdays in August 2022 are Amber, Ningguang, and Mona. All three characters have celebrated their birthday once so far since the release of Genshin Impact in September 2020, with each character sending players Birthday Mail in August 2021. Because of this, players know a bit about what to expect from these characters in regards to their Special Dish. Genshin Impact characters will always send the same Special Dish; however, the additional gifts that accompany the character's Special Dish tend to differ each year - based on how repeats have worked in 2022 so far.
Genshin Impact's Amber Celebrates Her Birthday On August 10
Outrider Amber is the first character to celebrate her birthday in August 2022, celebrating her special day on August 10. Amber is a 4-star Pyro character in Genshin Impact who wields a Bow and is one of the first characters Genshin Impact players receive for free in-game, after completing Prologue Act I: The Outlander Who Caught the Wind. Though Amber is often considered one of the weakest playable characters in Genshin Impact most deserving of a buff, she plays an important role in the early storyline, teaching the Traveler how to use a glider.
For her Birthday Mail in August 2021, Amber sent players her Special Dish Outrider's Champion Steak! and ten Dandelion Seeds. The only other way to obtain Amber's Special Dish Outrider's Champion Steak! is by chance when cooking Steak with Amber. Fortunately, as all Genshin Impact players receive Amber for free, her Special Dish is not hard to acquire. Amber's gift of Dandelion Seeds was collected from her home region of Mondstadt during one of her scouting missions. It's likely Amber will send a different gift to Genshin Impact players in August 2022; however, her Special Dish will remain unchanged.
Ningguang Celebrates Her Birthday On August 26 In Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact's Ningguang celebrates her birthday on August 26. Ningguang is a 4-star Geo character in Genshin Impact who uses a Catalyst weapon. Able to deliver consistent Geo DMG and AoE Geo DMG using her attacks from afar, Ningguang excels as a Main DPS and when used in a party alongside other Geo characters. Ningguang has appeared three times as a character in Genshin Impact's Starglitter Exchange shop and on eight different Character Event Wish banners as a featured 4-star character.
In August 2021, Ningguang sent Genshin Impact players her Special Dish Qiankun Mora Meat and a single Glaze Lily, picked from the wild outside Liyue Harbor. Ningguang's Special Dish used to be known as Caelum Terra Mora Meat but was renamed Qiankun Mora Meat in Genshin Impact's 1.2 update. The character-reviving dish can otherwise only be obtained by chance when cooking Mora Meat using Ningguang. Genshin Impact players can collect the recipe for Mora Meat during the Custodian of Clouds quest, part of Archon Quests Chapter I: Act I.
Genshin Impact's Mona's Birthday Is August 31
Finally, Genshin Impact's Mona Megistus celebrates her birthday on the last day of the month, August 31. Mona, an astrologist, is a 5-star Hydro Catalyst in Genshin Impact hailing from the region of Mondstadt. An excellent and Sub-DPS character, Mona triggers elemental reactions with her teammate's elements, and possesses a unique movement style that allows her to avoid opponents' attacks. Mona is one of Genshin Impact's 5-star characters without an Event Wish banner, making her relatively difficult to obtain.
Last year on her birthday, Mona sent Genshin Impact players her Special Dish, Der Weisheit Letzter Schluss (Life), and three Teachings of Gold. Oddly enough, Teachings of Gold are not used for leveling up any of Mona's Talents, but instead can be used on the following Genshin Impact characters: Yanfei, Zhongli, Xinyan, Xingqiu, and Beidou. Interestingly, Mona's Special Dish was also renamed, previously known as Supreme Wisdom (Life) up until Version 1.1. The CRIT rate-boosting dish can otherwise only be obtained by chance when cooking Satisfying Salad with Mona.
Genshin Impact players can receive bountiful rewards for simply logging into the game on each character's birthday. Though all Genshin Impact players acquire Amber for free in the early game, many players may not have had the good fortune to procure Ningguang or Mona. For players who do not own these characters yet, logging into Genshin Impact on each character's birthday is the only way to obtain their Special Dish. Additionally, Genshin Impact characters send players gifts that are unique to their home region or important to the character in some way. Therefore, logging in on playable characters' birthdays is a quick way to collect generous rewards from Genshin Impact with very little effort.
