What Makes Baizhu Likely To Die In Genshin Impact?
Although they lean on heavy speculation, Twitter BaizhuMains theorizes that Baizhu may be the first playable character to die in Genshin Impact. With his illness, and character themes revolving around the concepts of life and death, Baizhu, already seems like a likely character in the game who could die in of lore.
While it isn't likely that it will be a permanent change if he dies, it may be a very shocking and interesting twist for Genshin Impact's characters and story, similar to Signora's death.
Baizhu's Death Would Negatively Affect Genshin Impact
Despite his illness being seemingly fatal, due to his constant search for immortality, and making sense in of story, Baizhu's death would be a very poor business decision for the game. If Baizhu's death were permanent, the character would be unable to be included in events and quests, and this would directly affect his banner's popularity. For Genshin Impact to be able to kill Baizhu, yet still keep his popularity, they would need to somehow bring the character back, completing the cycle of life and death that is integral to his character.
This theory of course is based largely on the themes of Baizhu, combined with his illness, yet many factors still remain unknown. On top of this, none of Genshin Impact's playable characters have died to date, meaning there would be many logistical issues to solve before something like that can be attempted. However, if Baizhu were to die in Genshin Impact's future, it would make an extremely impactful story event, especially for those who waited so long for him to the playable roster.
