The Wanderer, formally known as Scaramouche, was recently released during the Genshin Impact Version 3.3 update, and players may wonder how effective he is in battle. As the newest playable 5-star character in the game, the Wanderer was a highly anticipated character for many fans. Now that he's been released, players were able to test his abilities extensively - and the results may not have been what fans were hoping for.
Scaramouche in Genshin Impact wields the Anemo element and uses the catalyst as a weapon. He's considered a Hypercarry unit that specializes in on-filed damage and will benefit greatly by having allies who can his attacks. Wanderer's primary Talent would be his Elemental Skill, which allows him to fly in the air while unleashing wind-type attacks. The Wanderer can be very strong in combat but he has several weaknesses that severely limit his potential.
Genshin Impact: Wanderer (Scaramouche) Strengths & Weaknesses
The Wanderer's greatest advantage in battle would be his flexibility in teams. All of the Wanderer's Talents and attacks will infuse enemies with Anemo, which allows him to trigger Swirl Elemental Reactions in Genshin Impact. He can be placed into many teams and will synergize well with top-tier characters like Bennet, Xiangling, Xingqiu, the Raiden Shogun, and many more. Players will also have the option to build a dedicated team that will enhance Wanderer's Attacks such as using the new 4-star character Faruzan who will increase Anemo damage. Another benefit to having Scaramouche is his mobility. Thanks to his flight, players can move across vast distances in the open world, which can make traveling easier.
A major weakness when using the Wanderer in battle is his durability. When Scaramouche floats in the air, he is susceptible to enemy attacks. When hit, the Wanderer will fall down, leaving himself wide open until he can get back up, which also wastes time. If players want to prevent this, then using an ally who can provide a shield, like Layla in Genshin Impact, is highly recommended. Another issue the Wanderer has is that when using his Elemental Skill there will be a separate stamina meter that will end his flight when depleted. The flight meter will deplete faster through various actions such as dashing or ascending. This would mean players must manage the flight meter while in the midst of combat, which can be challenging.
The Wanderer can be a great asset for players who dedicate time to learning his abilities. It's also important to provide him with the right types of equipment, as his performance will greatly improve. The new Artifact set in Genshin Impact called Desert Pavilion is highly recommended if players want to maximize the Wanderer's potential in combat as it is one of the best Artifacts for Anemo damage dealers like Scaramouche.
