Genshin Impact Leaks: Who Is Kamisato Ayato?

A final clue about Kamisato Ayato in Genshin Impact comes from an unlikely source, an NPC by the name of Nobumori, found in Komore Teahouse in Inazuma City. Nobumori surprisingly reveals that he previously owned a Vision, which he lost, but not as a result of the Vision Hunt Decree as one might expect. Nobumori was a polearm instructor and decided to challenge Ayato to a polearm duel. Despite his training at the Kitain School, Nobumori was no match for the head of the Kamisato Clan, and lost the fight, giving up his Vision to serve the Kamisato Clan as a doorman instead.

While Nobumori’s story may seem sad, he insists that losing his Vision rid him of a heavy burden. He praises and reveres Ayato, saying he not only has excellent swordsmanship but is greatly skilled with a polearm too. This could be a hint that Ayato will wield both a sword and a polearm, similarly to how Genshin Impact's Tartaglia (Childe) can switch between his sword and bow. Alternatively, it may only serve as an anecdote to show Ayato’s strength, for he could defeat Nobumori, a polearm instructor, despite his preferred weapon being a sword.

Although little is known about Kamisato Ayato and his release date, fans eagerly await his addition to Genshin Impact. While rumors, speculation, leaks, and datamined information should be taken with a grain of salt, it’s fairly safe to say that Ayato will be a powerful character. While fans may not see Kamisato Ayato added to the game for some time, hopefully, miHoYo will reveal his character model soon, so players can finally put a face to the name (and voice) of the head of Inazuma's Kamisato Clan.
