Finding the location where you can farm Obsidian Codex Artifacts in Mualani’s build in Genshin Impact, for example, Cinder City does not fit her.

While these two are the first Artifact sets from the region of Natlan, they are likely not the last. Both of them are different from previous sets since they include the Nightsoul’s Blessing mechanic into its special effects, a mechanic that is exclusive to Natlan characters. As such, it is expected that Obsidian Codex will serve various other DPS units that take advantage of the Nightsoul’s Blessing mechanics, including Kinich and possibly other Natlan character releases in Genshin Impact’s future updates. Before using it, however, you will need to farm Obsidian Codex Artifacts in the correct location.

Obsidian Codex Farming Location In Genshin Impact

How & Where To Unlock Domain Of Blessing: Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits

An image of Natlan's map in Genshin Impact showing the path to the Domain: Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits.

The Obsidian Codex Artifact set can only be farmed from the Domain of Blessing: Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits. This activity is located in the Toyac Springs portion of the Natlan map. For reference, this is the same area where you can find the People of the Springs tribe, known for its hot springs and abundant flow of water. From the Teleport Waypoint near the tribe’s location, you should head the road northward and you should be able to see the new Domain in Genshin Impact to the left, at the entrance to a tunnel.

There is a closer Teleport Waypoint, located to the northeast of the Domain’s location.

The path to the Domain can be seen in the official interactive map on HoYoLAB, as exemplified in the image above. Luckily, there are no gimmicks or puzzles blocking access to the Domain, so all you need to do is approach Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits and interact with it. Once that is done, you can start the challenge and farm the Obsidian Codex Artifacts for your characters.

What The Obsidian Codex Artifacts Do In Genshin Impact

The Set Is Best Equipped By DPS Characters From Natlan

The Obsidian Codex is a coveted Artifact set due to the in-game combat effects it can provide. It is widely acclaimed as a powercreep to the Marechaussee Hunter set, even if they work somewhat differently. When a character is equipped with two pieces of the Obsidian Codex set and they are in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state and currently on the field, their DMG dealt is increased by 15% – a bonus that applies to all of that character’s sources of damage, be that from their Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, Plunging Attacks, Elemental Skills, or Elemental Bursts in Genshin Impact.

The four-piece bonus is also excellent. After the consumes one Nightsoul point while still on the field, their CRIT Rate is increased by a whopping 40% for six seconds, an effect that can only trigger once per second. For a character like Mualani, who can consistently lose Nightsoul points as part of her natural rotation, the Obsidian Codex Artifact set basically ensures she has a constant 40% CRIT Rate bonus active, allowing you to focus on boosting her CRIT DMG more.

The Obsidian Codex set is expected to become the staple for the first few Natlan DPS characters, including Kinich and future releases. The way it ties into the Nightsoul’s Blessing mechanics and the incredible amount of DMG and CRIT Rate buffs it provides are undeniably strong and make for one of the best Artifact sets in the game – and, now, you can craft Artifacts in Genshin Impact.
