Today, developer and publisher miHoYo announced a native $1 billion in less than six months.

Set in the fantastical world of Teyvat, Genshin Impact places players in the role of the Traveler, a character who typically journey from world to world alongside their twin. The siblings have since become separated due to circumstances forged by an unspecified God in Teyvat. While traveling the fantasy land in search of the missing sibling, the Traveler finds themselves embroiled in matters relating to other Gods and nations. Players don't have to solely rely on the main character when venturing across Genshin Impact's open world, either. There are several other playable characters for fans to take control of, including those recently added in the Version 1.4 update.

In a press release (via Wccftech), miHoYo unveiled a native PlayStation 5 version of Genshin Impact. An announcement trailer accompanied the news, which confirmed the PS5 iteration will boast 4K visuals and faster loading times. Existing players can also expect their save data and progress to carry over to the new version whenever it releases. At the time of writing, the studio has yet to confirm a due date, though Genshin Impact's PS5 version should arrive sometime "soon." MiHoYo president Forrest Liu issued the following statement:

"The PlayStation 5 is an ideal platform to enhance the vast open-world featuring in Genshin Impact, allowing the team to incorporate more thoughts and ideas into the game, both now and in the future. That's why we've been working to bring the native PlayStation 5 version of the game to our players as soon as we could."

A Sony's new hardware beyond the 4K visuals and loading speeds.

Presently, Genshin Impact's console version is only available on PlayStation. While miHoYo confirmed a planned Xbox iteration.
