of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlour Discord server have been doing some datamining in rank among the game's most expansive leaks, although there is no confirmation that the weapons will be available in the next update, or at all.
Datamining isn't exactly a new phenomenon in Genshin Impact, and while developer miHoYo has swiftly condemned the practice, dataminers and beta testers with access to advanced data remain undeterred. Leaked data is almost always character-related, primarily having to do with which previously unplayable characters will be ing Genshin Impact's roster. The practice has become commonplace in the Genshin Impact community, primarily on Discord, where players can get a chance to scope out characters' stats and abilities ahead of their release, and strategize for them accordingly.
But the latest datamine has revealed that there's more coming out in 1.5 than just a pre-existing character becoming playable. Those who have already ed the fray may be picking up some new equipment. As reported by determined by a different datamine.
For its own part, miHoYo has been proactive about announcing new weapons ahead of updates, but while it has denounced datamining as detrimental to the game and to the community, it would serve the company well to be more aggressive about revealing what characters and weapons will be coming out before dataminers can. There is a demand among players to have advanced knowledge of characters and equipment, particularly pertaining to their stats and skills for the sake of strategizing. So if miHoYo really wants to stop datamining from occurring, it could easily fill that demand itself instead of refusing to do so and then complaining when dataminers do it.
Regardless, confirmation of whether or not the weapons will be a part of the 1.5 update won't be determined until the content is actually released to Genshin Impact. While miHoYo has yet to announce an official date, the update is expected to release sometime at the end of April — more than enough time for dataminers to sneak another peak at what comes with it.
