The weekly boss fights in Mavuika’s Talent materials in Genshin Impact, for example, players must defeat the Lord of Eroded Primal Fire boss.
Currently, weekly bosses live up to their title and players can only claim rewards from each of them a single time per week, with the challenge resetting with the server every Monday. The first three Trounce Domain encounters have a reduced reward claiming cost, consuming only 30 Resin per claim. Any weekly boss faced after the three first ones’ rewards are claimed cost 60 Resin. The possibility of challenging every single weekly boss is beneficial, but the system, which puts players against bosses like the Knave in Genshin Impact, still has a problem that could be corrected with an update.
Genshin Impact's Weekly Bosses Should Be Farmable More Than Once
Each Boss Drops More Than One Type Of Talent Material
Despite the fact that they are weekly, these Trounce Domain boss fights should allow players to challenge and claim rewards from them more than once a week. This is because farming materials from them is extremely tough. To start, the drop rates for Talent materials are fairly low, which already puts a damper on any Talent-leveling process. Furthermore, each of these bosses can drop three different materials and the one that is sought after by a player may simply not drop at all when they claim rewards from these bosses.
There is a way of transmuting some materials into others with Dream Solvent at Alchemy Tables in Genshin Impact, but even so, this item only has a 33% chance drop rate per challenge.
If players have extra opportunities to claim rewards from weekly boss challenges, they will inevitably have better chances of obtaining the Talent materials they need each week. Given the number of materials that are required per character, the amount of characters in the game, the fact that bosses can randomly drop up to three different types of materials, and the weekly limitation, the situation for players looking to upgrade the Talents of multiple characters seems dire. The current structure for weekly bosses in Genshin Impact doesn’t make sense anymore when compared to how it worked when the game was released.
Players Should Have A Trounce Domain Challenge Pool In Genshin Impact
The Game Could Improve Farming By Following In Honkai: Star Rail's Steps
Despite how beneficial it is to be allowed to farm materials from every Trounce Domain boss each week, this could be substituted for a more effective farming method. Instead of opening doors for all these bosses to be challenged weekly, players could instead have a weekly challenge pool. Given that there are currently 11 weekly bosses in the game, instead of challenging each of them once a week, players could instead have the option to use, for example, five of their challenges against a single boss or two. This method has proven to be effective outside of Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact May Have Just Extended Its Roap By A Full Year
A new destination on the Traveler’s journey may have just extended the roap for Genshin Impact by a full year, effectively postponing Snezhnaya.
In Honkai: Star Rail, another title under HoYoverse’s belt that has a similar progression system, players can challenge weekly bosses thrice a week and they can choose how they distribute these three weekly boss challenges. They don’t have the option to challenge all weekly bosses, but players can dedicate their three weekly boss challenges to the same boss fight. This allows players to focus on the material they need for their characters instead of being forced to run other boss fights that will, effectively, not serve them as much. A similar system could be applied to Genshin Impact.
The need for an update like this is even more exposed when compared to Honkai: Star Rail because the weekly bosses in the turn-based RPG only drop one type of ability-leveling material and they have a fixed drop rate. Players needing to farm The Herta’s materials in Honkai: Star Rail, for example, can face the Shadow of Feixiao boss with the guarantee that they will obtain copies of the exact material they need every run. Furthermore, they can repeat the challenge two more times, enhancing the results of their farming efforts in a way that’s currently unachievable in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 5.4 Leaks: How Many Primogems Are In Available In The Next Update
The estimated number of Primogems in Genshin Impact 5.4 has leaked and, compared to what was offered in Version 5.3, it’s a very disappointing amount.
Additionally, the drop rate for weekly boss materials when put side-by-side with character needs is much better than that of the action RPG. At the highest level, players can obtain two to three copies of Trace materials per run, which is somewhat the same as that offered by weekly bosses dropping Talent materials in Genshin Impact. However, to fully upgrade all of a character’s abilities in Honkai: Star Rail, players only need 12 copies of an item, whereas Genshin Impact requires them to have 18 copies of boss materials. When compared, Honkai: Star Rail offers a much better farming experience.
Farming Materials In Genshin Impact Is Getting Tougher By The Minute
The Game’s Ever-Expanding Roster & Activities Make Gathering Items More Frustrating
Because of how the game offers its materials, severely impacted by limitations, the process of farming items like Talent materials from weekly bosses is arguably getting tougher. There hasn’t been a change to the game’s farming structure, but it is constantly expanding with more characters and bosses, which makes the way that players approach character optimization a much more gruesome experience. HoYoverse has been implementing changes to make the game more friendly to new players and turn the experience more seamless, but farming in Genshin Impact continues to be a big issue, as exemplified by the weekly bosses.

Genshin Impact 5.4 Leaks: Yumemizuki Mizuki's Kit Seems Completely Skippable
New leaks about Yumemizuki Mizuki’s gameplay kit in Genshin Impact 5.4 have emerged, showing why she may be an unreliable character to pull for.
For now, there haven’t been any leaks indicating changes to how farming is tackled across all types of activities in the game, but based on HoYoverse’s other products, it’s possible to muster some hope that farming will eventually become a bit less punitive. The challenging aspect behind maxing out a character is still a valid approach, but taking on a boss without the certainty that the desired material will even drop is quite exhausting, especially when there are clear answers for how this problem can be fixed and improved in Genshin Impact.
