Wording on a Sucker Punch staffer's LinkedIn page led fans to believe the studio may be working on a native Ghost of Tsushima's ability to run 60fps at 1800p resolution on the new hardware.
Fans have their fingers crossed for something more, though, specifically a full-on port that allows the Sucker Punch title to take complete advantage of PS5's technology. Whether or not the studio intends to pursue this endeavor remains to be seen, but the team does have a Ghost of Tsushima-related project of some kind in the works. This is most notably evidenced by recent job listings for the studio that call for applicants who are familiar with the game and its various gameplay systems.
A LinkedIn resume for Sucker Punch's cinematic creative director, Spider-Man Remastered constituted one future possibility. Now it seems the write-up on Molloy's LinkedIn profile may have been an error, given his resume's swift revision. The previously mentioned line now reads as follows: "Presently working on the Ghost of Tsushima game for Sony PlayStation." Molloy's decision to delete the "Sony PS5" bit could mean a few things. Either he incidentally let word slip about a fully fledged PS5 version for Ghost of Tsushima and had to retract, or it was an honest mistake. The since-removed line could've also served as yet another hint that a Sony, however, there's little more to do than speculate.
Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima hit store shelves last summer to acclaim from critics and players alike. Positive word-of-mouth seems to have especially benefited the title as the months following its release wore on. As of November, it had become the fastest-selling original PS4 game in Sony's first-party stable with five million units sold in less than four months.
Ghost of Tsushima is playable now on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
