The launch trailer for eagerly awaited PlayStation 4 titles of the summer.

Fans have been waiting patiently for Ghost of Tsushima for two years, and they got an unfortunate surprise with a slight delay just before its release. When it became clear that the novel coronavirus outbreak was turning into a worldwide crisis, delays and disruptions quickly hit the video game industry. In early April, pushed back from its June 26th release date. That delay turned out to be less than a month, giving players just enough time to finish The Last of Us Part 2 before moving on to Sucker Punch’s samurai epic.

Ghost of Tsushima is set to launch this Friday, July 17th, but its launch trailer came out a little bit early. Just 59 seconds long, the trailer from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Anticipation is high for Ghost of Tsushima, particularly for the ways it will eschew some common game design tropes. Sucker Punch has talked up some phrases were mistranslated in the Japanese version of the game.

There may still be reasons to be cautious about Ghost of Tsushima, but the launch trailer shows that there should be no lack of jaw-dropping environments and stunning action. If the final product is as good as the trailer makes it look, it should be a fitting send-off to the PlayStation 4 from Sucker Punch.
