The Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut PC requirements have been revealed. Sucker Punch's samurai epic was previously a PlayStation exclusive, launching on PlayStation 4 in 2020 to extremely high critical acclaim, with a PS5 upgrade accompanying the Director's Cut release in 2021.

With Sony Interactive Entertainment's plans to release most of its first-party titles on PC after timed exclusivity on PlayStation consoles, and successful ports such as the first two Marvel's Spider-Man games and God of War, many PC gamers had hoped Ghost of Tsushima would be one of the next titles to be ported over. Fortunately, in March 2024, it was revealed that Nixxes - who brought other PlayStation exclusives such as Marvel's Spider-Man to PC - had been working on the port, and Ghost of Tsushima will be coming to PC on May 16, complete with all of the content in the Director's Cut, such as the Iki Island expansion, and the cooperative online multiplayer Legends mode.

Ghost Of Tsushima's Legends Multiplayer Mode Will Have Crossplay

PS4, PS5 And PC Players Can All Team Up Regardless Of Their Chosen Platform

In a PlayStation Blog post by Nixxes Software's Online Community Specialist, Julian Huijbregts, it was revealed that Ghost of Tsushima will have cross-play . This has become an extremely popular feature in modern gaming, particularly with multiplayer titles, as players want to play titles with their friends regardless of the platform they're on. In the case of Ghost of Tsushima's Legends multiplayer mode, players on PC will be able to team up with players on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles and use in-game voice chat to communicate.

At its core Legends sees players choose one of four classes: Samurai, Ronin, Hunter, or Assassin and embark on missions in teams of two or four players. Two-player teams could go on story missions, while four-player teams have to survive against waves of enemies in a "Survival mode", with further four-player raids introduced post-launch. The point of Legends is to earn Honor, Essence, or Blessings by completing missions, which can be used to upgrade their character.

The PS5 version of Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut improved load times, 4k resolution options, and framerates "targeting" 60 FPS, but in the initial announcement about Ghost of Tsushima coming to PC, it was confirmed post that Nixxes would be utilizing the latest performance-enhancing technologies to further improve these features. Both upscaling and frame generation options are available through the AI-based NVIDIA DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) 3, AMD FSR (FidelityFX™ Super Resolution) 3, and Intel XeSS (Xe Super Sampling), the latter of which can be used across graphics cards from multiple vendors.

NVIDIA DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing) and AMD FSR 3 Native AA - which is a pure anti-aliasing option with no upscaling taking place - can also be used to further boost image quality.

Nixxes has also confirmed that Ghost of Tsushima will also have unlocked frame rates on PC, as well as a variety of graphics settings and presets including ultrawide monitor , being fully optimized for Ultrawide 21:9 and Super Ultrawide 32:9 resolutions. There is also for 48:9 resolutions on triple monitor setups, letting players experience more of the expansive terrain and ancient landmarks with a cinematic field of view.

Ghost of Tsushima is an incredibly visually stunning title, but with the enhancements being added for PC, players should look forward to the title looking even better. As players explore the game's open-world map, they'll regularly find leaves, blossom, ash, and more blowing through the air across its vast landscapes, creating an eerily tranquil beauty among the horrors of war that helps players better understand the land Jin Sakai is fighting to protect, while simultaneously showing the damage being done by the Mongolian forces, and with extended display options, they'll be able to see even more of this to immerse themselves better than ever before.
